Over the last couple of years since emerging from babyland, I've been struggling to look good again. I've been spending a lot of time and money gathering a wardrobe of clothes that I really like and learning about makeup. But, after all this, when I catch a glimpse of myself, I am disappointed to see that I still don't look great - looking sad with my boring hair pulled back into a boring pony tail etc. I realise now that, in focussing so fixedly on clothes and makeup, I have been ignoring other, more important, aspects of looking great. I've written a list in hierarchical order of what I now think is most important to looking great. I would really appreciate any additions, changes or suggestions.
- Inner state of mind - e.g confidence, happiness, grace, character, interest
- Posture - reflecting health and inner state of mind
- Hair - in a style and colour that look great on you
- Figure - healthy, fit enough, and at a weight that suits you
- Skin
- Makeup
- Clothes and accessories - suitable for the occasion, in colours, textures and shapes that suit you, that make you feel good, and that outwardly express those aspects of yourself and the attitude that you want to express at that moment
- Nails
