I look rubbish in all sunglasses.

I realise this is a bit tricky to do on the net but I need help.

I have tried on a trillion pairs and they all look like shit. I have a fairly narrow (odd shaped?) face, they all stick out too much at my temples and just look weird. I would dearly love to look sexy and sophisticated in a pair of ray ban aviators but I simply don't. I would be prepared to spend a bit whip out the credit card if I found the right pair.

Has anyone found any fail safes that are neither too big/too small and look good on someone who looks crap in glasses? I'm not even fussed on the kind of frames as long as I don't look too daft. I'm off on holiday soon and neeeed some. Ta.

Hmm, don't shoot me but would Rayban Wayfarers for Juniors be any good if your face is v small/slim?

Oooh, never thought of that, I'll have to have a look. The problem is I wouldn't really say I have a super narrow face, but it must be a bit narrow because all the glasses that look lovely on everyone else make me look like I have wings Grin. Without wanting to out myself as one of the potato heads I guess its narrower round the top/temple area than round my jaw iyswim? Also I have a tiny nose and big glasses make it look like a button.

Are you sure you're not an alien? Wink

BlushI do indeed sound rather peculiar. After some googling it would appear I am most like a 'diamond' face shape Confused

I have quite a narrow face and find that Raybsn Wayfarers suit me well, although I have a big nose! I have the adult version, but they do different sizes which is useful.

squoosh · 01/07/2013 17:40

I find Wayfarers are a universally flattering shape, even on my moon face!

right...I'm off to look at Wayfarers then! Thank you.

I have a similar (alien?) shaped face to yours! I have to second the idea of choosing Junior sunglasses. I cannot wear any adult sunglasses as they all look enormous and make me resemble an insect, but kids' sunglasses fit like a dream. I'm tempted by the RayBan Wayfarers for juniors myself, but I've also found some adult-looking junior shades in Boots or TK Maxx. It takes a bit of wading through wee plastic novelty frames, but there are many options you can try on and choose to see what suits your face. I currently have a really nice pair of plain black 50s cat-eye style sunglasses by Benetton that I got in the junior section of TK Maxx for about £6.

bishboschone · 01/07/2013 20:25

I'm the same but I think it's because my eyes are my best Feature and taking that away is not good. I have recently found small aviators suit pretty well. Can you try some kids ones , I got womens but they at Randall compared to ray bans.

allmycats · 01/07/2013 20:55

Rayban Wayfarers come in a petite size. (NOT a child frame) ask your
optician to order you some in to try, the suppliers (Luxottica) do a sale or return policy so if you don't like them you would only have to pay for the postage charge

I look rubbish in all sunglasses except for the £3 kids aviators in Tesco. I have about 4 pairs of them all over the house and car.

Like you I find most glasses too wide for my face, so give it a try!
