Clarisonic vs No7

I've been looking at the clarisonic mia, but the price has put me off. In town today I saw No 7 have a cleansing brush that looks almost the same and I got a £5 off voucher with my other shopping, so I'm really tempted to go back and get it. Has anyone got one? Is there much difference between the two? The brush did feel a little scratchy, so how do people find it? I'm looking to improve age-related open pores/blackheads and fine lines, so has anyone had any positive experiences?

Sorry, so many questions!

I've never used a clarisonic so I really can't compare but I have used the No 7 brush since February and it's made a huge difference to my skin! It feels much smoother, looks brighter and I have fewer blackheads & my skin is much less congested. I would definitely recommend it for the money. I'm 46 and my skin is quite sensitive (on top of all the other problems) but i can use the brush happily everyday. Hope that helps!

Thank you! I think I'll get one next week. Do you use the No7 cleanser with it?

I have the Clarisonic (not the Mia but the one that also comes with a body brush, I think it's the one called Plus). I don't know the No7 version, so I can't compare the two.
I have had mine for around 2 years now, and I absolutely love it.

You can get different brushes for the Clarisonic for different skin types and for deep cleanse. I've only tried the ones for normal and for sensitive skin, and they are both very good and not scratchy at all. The brush for the body (doesn't work on Mia AFAIK) is also very nice. It's rechargeable.

The Clarisonic comes with pre-programmed cleansing programs. Basically, you are supposed to start with cleaning your forehead, then nose and chin and then each cheek. It will beep and stop for a second to tell you to move on to the next area.

My skin has improved massively since I started using it - my only spots are hormonal ones, but no blackheads at all, skin is smooth and looks clear and bright. I have heard people saying that using the Clarisonic can make fine lines less visible, but I'm not too sure of that...

As my skin has been quite bad due to hormones, I've been using Clinique Anti-blemish cleansing foam, but have previously been using creamy cleansers as well as soap bar style cleansers. All work fine with the brush.

Thanks Vibbe. I don't think the No7 has a timer, so that is one difference between them (How long do you use it for?) Other than that does the Clarisonic do anything more than rotate the brush at varying speeds, as that seems to be all the No7 one does?

20 seconds on the forehead, 20 seconds on nose and chin, 10 seconds on each cheek, so one minute in total.
It's waterproof, so I just use it in the shower. I don't know if the No7 version is waterproof.

I've found these blog posts about the No7 and Clarisonic Mia: liparazzi.blogspot.ch/2012/12/a-cheaper-clarisonic-dupe.html

I have the no 7 one and I love it - my skin is so much clearer and smoother since I started using it and the big open pores seem to be a bit smaller. I just use it with my regular cleanser - some johnsons gel face wash - for about 1-2 mins every day on slow setting and then rinse and use superdrug vit e serum.

I have dry sensitive skin and initially it left my face a bit red but it's calmed down considerably now and my complexion is much brighter overall. I wouldn't be without it and can recommend it.

I've not tried the Clarisonic but tested the Boots one at their HQ before it went on the market and loved it.

I've since bought two for gifts and had one bought for me and its great - my skin looks so much brighter. I use it with the No 7 Foaming Cleanser but I've tried it with some Garnier (I think) foaming cleanser that I got cheap somewhere and that was good too.

I love mine. Smile

I bought the no.7 one 2 weeks ago, I have been using it every alternate evening. There are two settings and I use the gentler, slow setting. I can certainly see an improvement, my skin feels very soft and looks clearer. I would still prefer a clarisonic though.

Also the no.7 is not waterproof.

I use the no 7. When I get lazy and don't use it for a few days I get spots, so it must work. I used it with the no 7 mouse cleanser

FluffyDucky · 30/06/2013 10:58

Bexicles, you can use it in the shower but not submerge it.

For anyone looking for a bargain, I bought the No7 brush today - they are currently on offer at £15 and with a £5 off No7 voucher came in at just a tenner.

They are £25 usually so I was very pleased and can't wait to try it.
