it's denim, from Monsoon, gently flaring to just below the knee. I've just bought a pair of wedges (not sure how practical but thought I'd be daring, for me) and have St. Tropez'd my legs (which are reasonable). Is this a good look or not. After 3 pregnancies in 4 yrs and having just lost 1.5 stone, I'm starting to feel more adventurous with clothes but not sure if I'm getting it right. Think i've been in maternity clothes too long. Also, can I wear a long gypsy-style skirt I bought last yr. It's plain, black with just a slightly flared hem with pin tucks or is that v. passe?

the denim skirt sounds lovely and will look great with the wedges.
Not sure about the gypsy skirt though if you're trying to look fashion forward. But if you like it...Smile

denim skirt and wedge combo sounds great.
whilst its claimed that gypsy skirts are officially over according to the fash mags, some trendy shops are still selling simple versions, maybe just don't go the whole boho hog with it

denim sounds good, wedges great also

think you'll get away with the long one, just don't refer to it as a 'gypsy' skirt any more! Everyone round here seems to have got their tiered white ones out again, and they are looking a bit naff.

ooh, so exciting to have responses so quickly. Going away for w/e tom. to friend who is always really skinny and stylish. I've gone from size 14 to 10/12 (thanks to total ill health recently) (useful though)! and want to look good. Which combination would you wear - denim skirt, wedges, camisole and cardigan (in green), or jeans and cami and cardy or cropped beigey trousers and cami - with wedges (of course). At least I've stopped agonising about whether or not to return wedges to shop. They are from Clarks and are dark brown leather with a strap over the toes and a tie from ankle that makes a bow on top of the foot. Get my drift? Feel so pleased not to feel like frumpy old mum for once, so please humour me!

looks like there'ds a clear winner here. Just tried on the skirt combi and it looks good, I tthink. Just feel a bit bare on the legs - used to wearing that skirt with opaque tights and boots! Def. feel sexier in wedges though, usu. in Birkies or Converse, so q. a diff. for me.Next q. is: I St. Tropez'd my legs last night - v. 1st time. It's v. pale, so if I do it again tonight will it be ok or complete disaster of orange-ness.

personally I wouldn't risk it - leave it and hope colour develops a bit more. Better pale and interesting than freakily orange!

I think I've lost all my coinfidence over the last few yrs in terms of fashion and things like self-tan. It seems to have just dawned on me that everything doesn't have to be practical, just cos I'm a mum. Does that sound odd? Anyway, I had to have a glass of wine last night to get enough confidence to put on fake tan - poss. not the best approach! I feel like i'm on that loathsome 10 yrs younger programme! I could do with Trinny and Susannah though - although I saw Susannah in our local NT adventure playground looking v. slim but horsey and not terribly stylish. Prob. annoying if you are her though, everyone expecting you to be stylish all the time.
