BRA EXPERTS- back fat

Opinions from experts. On the advice of some lovely person here I ordered my mum some Bravissimo bras to try- she is 80s and lives some way from her nearest shop.
She measures 32.5 under her bust and 37 over- but because of her age, I think the cup size is an underestimate IYSWIM, because her boobs are quite soft and low slung, and when measured over a bra they are flatter - does that make sense?

She normally wears a 36D or 34DD, so I sent for 32F 32FF 34E and 34F.
She says they are all too tight and show her back fat. She is going to try to get to the store to be fitted.

However, TBH her current 36D ( it's a Fantasie) does not provide her with much support AND she was using an extender too at the back! She's just over a size 12 dress size, weighs about 8.5 stone ( her hips and waist are smaller than her bust) and there is no way IMO she is a 36+ back. She's always been told she has a tiny back and big cups.

So- what's the opinions on back fat? I dread she will end up with droopy boobs due to a bra that's too loose again.

A longline bra may help.

Have you taught her how to scoop? the backfat needs to be manhandled in to the bra. I still have some, but nothing like as much as if I don't scoop

I went to Rigby and Peller and they told me I was wearing the wrong size bra. They said my back was smaller and my cup size was bigger as did House of Fraser. But I hated the feel of the new sizing and stuck with the bra size I thought I was. It may be your dm just doesn't like the 'feel' of the ones you got ( like me) as she has been wearing a looser one for years and years.

Yep think you are all right! I think she has just got used to the feel of a loose bra. I have printed off some info from the other bra reinvention thread here ( the link to the bra blog) and will send it to her (I don't live near.)

I know that I used to wear a 34A, whereas I am now in a 32D and could possibly go into a 30 back as I measure 29-30 under my bust ( and 35 over)
