Pumps to wear with dresses?

I am trying to get away from the black trousers habit (for work). Dresses seem the ideal solution as I don't suit skirts. I bought this which seems to suit my shape but I don't know what shoes to wear. Would something like these be okay?

I think it would look fine I also thought Mary Jane style shoes may be nice.though I'm no expert.

Oooo I like that dress. I'm 6ft though...so would wear with leggings and boots I guess.

Great dress, hate the shoes though! What do you mean by pumps? Do you want heels or flats? I've never understood the word pumps! It seems to be used for everything from trainers to ballerinas to court shoes!

lovely dress but agree on shoes, not liking them.

what do you mean by pumps? flats?

If you're after flats, I just bought these and they're gorgeous. Don't look much in the pictures, but the material is lovely (for fake suede) and they are really elegant and comfortable.

Otherwise I'd wear black courts like the woman in the picture is wearing with your dress.

Sorry just back in.
Tbh I don't know what pumps are either, I saw it written on the Jaeger website Blush
The dress isn't as short on me as I'm 5ft 3 so I was thinking a low wedge or something not entirely flat. keztrel I like those shoes though its something to give me a bit of height I need.
Thanks all.

I reckon pumps is one of those fashion words we're all meant to understand from the context. It should probably be used in the singular too - a black pump would look lovely with that dress daaahling.

Anyway... I think you need something a bit more delicate than wedges with the dress as its quite smart and sophisticated. But I could be wrong :)
