Work trousers that fit curves?

I find getting trousers a total nightmare, but could really really do with some for work.

I have a small waist, size 6 in m&s, but a lovely curvy bum, so I end up with a gappy waist as I have to go up a size or two to accommodate my bottom. For jeans I buy Levi full curve or whatever they're called, but I need some nice plain trousers for work, who has solved this dilemma?

Watching with interest........

Meh got excited before I clicked that you were going to have solved my dilemma. I have only tried marks and sparks, which are no good.

M&S have some stretchy wide leg trousers usually - would that be any good? these I think. Boring but useful.

Northernlurker · 17/06/2013 00:10

Oh damn - cross posted. Sorry.

wonderstuff · 17/06/2013 00:14

I didn't try the wide leg ones, I'm 5'4 and worry they'd make me look short?

I have had trousers from next in the past that have fitted me very well and I usually have the same problem - if they fit my big hips the waist is huge!

Northernlurker · 17/06/2013 00:23

I'm 5ft 3 and I hadn't noticed that particularly but then to be brutal you and I ARE short Grin. The medium fits me and they are VERY comfy and cool for summer.

Will try next. Thank you.

My child with a slim waist and large bottom has had success at next And matalan. Primark was hopeless.

I don't know if that follows into adult sizes though.

HalfPastTwoDear · 17/06/2013 04:49

I've heard M&S are crap because they only allow a 6" differential between waist and hip - not exactly curvy!

Wallis are supposed to be cut for arses if you can find anything which doesn't self-combust in direct sunlight.

Oh, and bizarrely I have a pair of Tesco work trousers which fit "reasonably well" (for the price) - I have a 14" difference between waist and arse.

Thank you for ideas so far, wee bump should anyone have found the perfect pair Smile

Wonderstuff - They Don't Exist. Sorry.

'They' have decided that women are not shaped like women any more or those that are, are not allowed trousers that fit them Sad.

I am very happy to be proved wrong, as I desperately need some plain, dark trousers for work, preferably in a straight leg. I got some wide leg ones from Wallis a few years ago (they're not too bad actually, try there) and they're on their last legs. Don't want wide leg (or boot cut) again, but have looked all over the place and nothing fits.

They don't exist.

Wonderstuff · 17/06/2013 19:54

Really? Bollocks.

New MN Campaign? Trousers for beautiful bums? Bit by bit we can make the world a better place no?

Maybe I could find a pattern and a seamstress?
