My skin is weird!

I am trying to establish a good skincare regime but it has dawned on me that, at 43 years old, I have no idea what skin type I have.
My skin is very sensitive and I am allergic to lots of products. In the past I would also have said it was dry but I'm not sure that's the case anymore. I quite often get spots on ny chin and at the sides of my nose. I also get blackheads on my nose.
So should I be looking for something for normal to combination skin?

It could be like mine where your skin is sensitive but you also have combination skin. My cheeks are dry but the t zone (forehead, nose and chin are oilier.

I would get stuff for sensitive skin if I were you. I thought at first that just the cheek area (dry bits) were sensitive but found out that a clinique foundation annoyed my chin area.

La Roche Posey and Avene and also Vichy have some good stuff in their ranges and have stuff for the oiler/spotty parts as well as the drier parts. It might just be a case of using a toner on the oilier bits, whilst using more moisturing stuff every where else. Everyone's skin is individual, it is just the companies that come out with this idea of a few basic skin groups.

Hope that helps

I wondered about LRP as I've seen it mentioned on here a few times. There just seems to be so much in their ranges though - not sure what to look for

The body shop's aloe range is fantastic, all except the face wash is fantastic.

Look on this site for other people's recs about La Posey - THERE HAS BEEN LOADS OF CHAT ABOUT IT.Sorry did not mean to post in capitals!

Hi, I had similar issues and went to the trilogy range and found it vg. I use the rosehip oil and ultra facecream now. Did use the sensitive for ages but my skin seemed to settle down and then became v dry.

I get spots and blackheads and I have very dry skin - breakouts d. If you actually get oiliness on your nose then combination, otherwise just normal or dry.

Gah fat fingers, half finished! Try again...

I get spots and blackheads and I have very dry skin - breakouts don't necessarily mean oily skin. If you actually get oiliness on your nose then combination, otherwise just normal or dry.

I tend to focus on the sensitive aspect of my skin rather than the dry aspect - if it's not upset it's not as dry. So I just use very plain products - Anita grant carrot oil cleanser, trilogy rose hip oil, lush angels on bare skin (in the shower). That way I break out less and my skin's happier.

I bought La Roche Posay Physiological cleansing gel today. First time I've tried LRP so I'm hoping it lives up to the hype it's had on here.
I got it with my Boots points so won't be the end of the world if it doesn't suit.
