But i have no idea what they are really and which ones are best. Also i was looking at BB creams and i don't really know what they are either - are they the same thing?

I may get a clinique cc cream, would they work together?

Honestly i'm clueless. I went for a facial and now feel like my beauty products are from the dark ages!

Can anyone kind point me in the right direction? Cheers :)

Hmm. I find serums always make my skin come out in red blotches (v sensitive), so I just use plain trilogy rosehip oil. You may want to try and get some samples to try first as they're expensive and may not all work for you.

Agree, someone bought me the No 7 perfect and protect one which everyone seems to rave about but it only made me blotchy. No idea what they're supposed to do really!

I think BB creams are supposed to be somewhere between a foundation and a tinted moisturiser. But also might have some added bits like making you look a but dewy etc. so they will give a little coverage but are a more natural look.

I tried the garnier one which lots of people seemed to like and again I didn't like it!

Sorry not much help. If you want to update your skincare you might be better trying to find some nice skincare products like cleanser, moisturiser etc that you like and then think about make up and skincare extras later.

BB cream is basically a tinted moisturiser with SPF. CC cream tends to even the skintone more than a BB cream.

I've always considered serum as a more concentrated type of skincare than moisturiser. I think there's something about the molecules in serum being smaller than in moisturiser and therefore able to penetrate deeper into the skin - but that might be sales talk. You can find serums with all kinds of properties - moisturising, anti-ageing, regenerating and so on.

You can use BB cream/CC cream with serum if you want. I wouldn't use BB and CC cream together as they are more or less the same thing.

Like for foundations, I recommend that you get a sample of the BB/CC cream before you buy it to make sure the colour is the right one, and that it fits your skin.

Thanks all. I think a CC cream would work better for me, as altho i have nice skin, i can get very pink/red round the cheeks. I currently use a tinted moisturiser from estee lauder which is supposed to match your skin tone, but oddly i feel a bit orange in it.

I use a cleanser from Skin which has a 'peel' type ingredient in it. I also use Forever Flawless scrub, Vit c booster, and eye serum and estee lauder moisturiser has just run out so was thinking of getting a Skinlastin one. But when i had a facial i was advised to get a serum for under my moisturiser, to help it absorb.

Maybe i'll potter round the make up stands and see what packaging i like the best and which ones smell the nicest - Which seems to be how i choose my products. Confused
