I am in danger of filing down to the bone (fun, fun, fun)

I was hooked in by advertising of Scholl express pedi but thought £40 maybe that's a bit much. I'm not great at buying for myself.

The hard skin on my feet has been taunting me and mocking me and quite frankly laughing at me. So this evening dashed to Boots and bought one. Mmm mmm Mama. So far it's fab.

I am now sitting on my hands because it says in the instructions do not attempt to remove a large or particularly thick area of hard skin in one attempt. I want to have another go at the bit on the outside of my big toe. I mean I really really REALLY want to.

Little and Often name Little and Often.

Never mind these patent contraptions, what you really need is a nice scalpel.

HellonHeels · 13/06/2013 09:29

Put it away!

And put some hand or foot cream on the feet.

Hope you managed to avoid sanding yourself down to raw flesh - how is it looking today?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/06/2013 10:46

OhBugger - yay - someone else who uses a scalpel on their hard skin!! I have to do this from time to time (I wouldn't, if I could be bothered to file my heels regularly, but I am a lazy mare - with hooves!).

Namechangea - I yearn for one of those express pedi/micro-pedi things. Dh has offered to use the sanding attachment on the Black and Decker, but I think that might be a bit excessive, even for my horrible heels. Enjoy your express filing and your gorgeous feet!

Yes, yes to a scalpel. Boots do a corn remover knife that does the job very nicely, then finish off with the file thing to get them lovely and smooth. You'll be sat there til next week if you just use a file.

namechangea · 13/06/2013 20:37

Where do you even purchase a scalpel?

Feet look great. Definitely back on it again this evening.

Art shop scalpels perfectly good, and much more efficient than all that messing about with different kinds of grater. You won't look back!

iMe · 14/06/2013 09:26

Scalpel? Shock

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/06/2013 10:24

I use an art shop scalpel, OhBugger - I used to be an operating Theatre nurse, and the blade handle and scalpel blades I bought in the art shop are exactly the same as the ones I used to use in Theatre - apart from not being sterile.

iMe - it is surprisingly satisfying to carve the rock hard skin off my heels. Blush
