Leg shaving question. What am I doing wrong?

I just started using those nylon exfoliating gloves in the shower. I use some shower gel on them and in circular movements exfoliate all over.
Then I shave my legs, use a Wilkinson Quattro blades and after have been using Jergens body lotion.
My legs have felt very smooth but I noticed yesterday I was starting to get little spots on my thighs, its like where the hairs grow there are little spots.
What am I doing wrong? Why haven't I got lovely smooth flawless legs (overlooks the cellulite, stretch marks and manly thighs)
Top tips please
(ps I am 41 almost although you'd think I was 14 from the question)

You could have a slight infection of the hair follicles. One way to prevent is to use body lotion with tea tree oil in- they use this on you at salons after waxing.

The other possible is that it could be a reaction to the Jergens if the skin is slightly ' cut' from the shaving- I got the most awful rash all over from one Jergens- never again.

Sometimes the spots are ingrowing hairs but if this is happening straight after shaving then maybe not.

You are maybe doing too much and irritating the skin- I'd say leave off the nylon mit etc and just shave and moisturise with something unperfumed- I swear by Neutrogen lotion.

It might well be the Jergens. Its a beige bottle with a slight scent to it.
Would I get that many ingrowing hairs if I'm exfoliating?
I will have to check out Neutrogena. How often do you think I should use the gloves Bella?
(thank you for your advice by the way, I really do appreciate it, I am trying to up my game in looking after my appearance after a long time of being very lazy about it)

Maybe not use the gloves on the same day as you shave? You really only need exfoliate about twice a week. I had the beige bottle jergens and got awful pimples all over my tummy- and I hadn't been shaving it, lol!

I swear by Neutrogena as does Sali Hughes- Tesco often has it reduced and you get about 400mls bottle for around £4- go for the sensitive one of you can.

I have sensitive skin. I can't shave...I mean, I do but what happens to you also happens to me. I exfoliate and moisturise but it doesn't help much. The answer, for me anyway, when I can afford it, is waxing. No bumps after the first day and can forget about it for a month and a bit!

It sounds to me like a reaction to the moisuriser. My skin is very sensitive, I can't moisturise at all straight after shaving. I leave it until the evening (shave in the morning), recently have been using grapeseed oil which is really nice and light.

Is it a new blade?
Dull ones can irritate the skin a lot.
