  1. Do you like this scarf?
  1. Would the colours work on a Winter, ie are they 'ice' or 'pastel'?

I would personally say that they're both not vivid and jewel like enough to be winter scarves.

This is lovely. am tempted myself

Keztrel · 12/06/2013 17:33

Ah you're probably right Queen, I was forgetting to look for vividness, was concentrating more on looking for 'pure' colours, eg true green instead of bluey green.

Love the cobalt blue one. I want a print though.

Love the pink owls one MadAbout. But I'm wondering now whether I should stop dressing like a child and go for a chic silk cobalt one like QueenCadbury Grin Maybe I'll just get both, still won't cost as much as a Becksondergaard one!

Thanks so much for all your help everyone.

Get both Smile

I have a mixture of prints and plains - prints are great for picking out colours in your outfit & adding interest & coordination eg cobalt jeans with a grey top and a scarf with a bit of cobalt in it as well as red and navy.

Keztrel · 16/06/2013 11:14

Sorry for slow reply, have been away - good tips MadAbout, I'm rubbish at colour combining. I've ordered both scarves now and will be trying to use them to pick out colours in outfits!

Also, if any Winters are interested, I bought a Mac longwear lipstick called Love Forever at the weekend and it's brilliant - matte, lasts forever but feels weightless and non drying on your lips, and it's a very bright blue pink without being neon (Girl About Town was a bit neon for me), so v wearable for daytime.

keztrel I'm just trying to get the hang of colour combining as I'm a bit scared of colour but I'm slowing get more confidence. Myself and others have done this pin board. It's not just winter colours but it's given me a bit of confidence to try and step out of my comfort zone and to see that it can be stylishly done(I'm always a bit scared of looking like a childrens TV presenter).

Keztrel · 16/06/2013 13:39

Great board Queen, thanks! I've always been a one non-bright colour plus black or jeans person and don't like bright colours really (though I do love being a winter as I love all the deep purples, navy, pine green etc). Am shocked at how much I love bright pink lipstick on me - it looks so much better than my usual washed out pinks and neutrals and makes my eyes look really big and dark. So I will follow your board and start trying some brighter clothes :)

I was never a fan of bright clothes but suddenly I find myself in red and pink quite a lot! I love the emeralds and pine green as well as purples too but I only had my colours done in April so I haven't had much success fining stuff in those colours. I'm hoping that once winter comes that those colours will be round more. Like you though, I tend to wear a neutral top (black, navy or white) with jeans and a brighter cardigan but I'm trying to step out the comfort zone. I agree, bright lipstick makes such a difference. I love my pink too!

MadAboutHotChoc · 16/06/2013 17:23

I want a pine green top too.

I tend to play safe when combining colours e,g black dress with emerald cardigan. The second bright colour is likely to be nails or lipstick, necklace or scarf. I work in a rather conservative industry so I am very conscious about not looking OTT.

The pink lippy looks gorgeous - I don't have a pink lipstick so will try one to see how I look.

stars say mrtumble to me Smile

Keztrel · 16/06/2013 17:48

Oh I love stars on anything Murray and had never heard of Mr Tumble, but I see what you mean!

I've just ordered this. And a blue one. And a purple. No idea what they'll fit like but I love the colours.

Keztrel · 16/06/2013 21:21

Ooh that's a great green QueenCadbury, hope the fit is good.

I've been going through my extensive lipstick collection today (was meant to be working, ahem) and although most of them are entirely wrong on me - too many brown-based nudes and wishy washy pinks - I can report that Kate Moss for Rimmel in 107 - deep berry red - is fantastic, and Mac Viva Glam I is a great deep, wearable vintagey red. I'm still scared of Ruby Woo, which I bought years ago and have never worn out...

I also painted my nails in OPI Do You Lilac It which looks completely wrong.
