Eye cream that *actually* diminishes dark circles: should I give up the search?

I've Googled my arse off on the cause of dark circles, to see if there's anything I'm doing to exacerbate the situation. Most articles I've read say not to rub your eyes (I don't), get plenty of sleep (I do), eat lots of B vitamins and iron (I do) but if they're still there, they're hereditary or just down to the thinner skin in this area.

Fine: so, is there an eyecream out there that can help? I always but products that claim to do so, the only one I've tried in 15 years that has made any difference is No. 7's Protect/Perfect eye serum.

Any others? I'm not expecting miracles, but it would be good if I could spend less time concealing this area when doing makeup.

I've always had them, sleep or no sleep. I am very pale, almost translucent, and my circles are pretty annoying.

Over the years I've tried a LOT of products, but have finally, at the grand ol' age of 39 found my magic elixir :)

I use Clinique. I have the 'even better eyes' and 'all about eyes', and combining them both works well for me. Leaves me feeling a lot more awake and fresher looking, and they are also good for the skin, etc.

I then cover with Bobby Brown corrector in porcelain (this was my own colour match) using a concealer brush to tenderly dab the product on (rarely use fingers for it streaks and pushes it around). If my ciscles are super bad, I will occasionally dab a bit of Clinique Airbrush concealer over the BB corrector.

This works wonders for me, and does not clog, crease or wear off through the day.

Skin is so personal though, so what works really well for one person might do nothing for the other. Worth a look though! Def go to a store or department store to try them, Clinique will give you samples for free for you to test.

Oh, and I tried the BY TERRY stuff, but it went chalky and creasy on me.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair eye serum.

I got some in a trial on here a few months ago, and it is bloody brilliant. I'm also using the face serum that is in the same range, and my skin is amazing.
Both things are lasting so well, I think it was February I got them and I've used both every day since then and am only half way down the bottles.

I have always had bad dark circles, and I get far too little sleep but my skin looks fresh and smooth and radiant even first thing in the morning before my shower. So, so worth the money!

Teacakes, I have by way of coincidence, got an All About Eyes sample from Clinique today, it's in their Bonus Time gift, hurrah.

I also use Bobbi Brown corrector, love it. Then use NARS stick concealer for any really dark areas, then Airbrush on the eyesocketbones to finish off.

I've already tried the Estee Lauder ANR eye serum and made no difference to my circles, unfortunately.
