Bloody gapey saggy clothes - grrrrrr! Any suggestions?

My problem us purely a practical one as I'm really not a clothesy styley sort of person sadly. I have very narrow shoulders and a small frame generally, though am tall(ish). I am also very boney with horrid wedgy collarbones and visible ribs, and very little flesh to fill tops. Does anyone have any suggestions of places which stock tops/dresses and so on which won't sag and gape and fall off my shoulders? I am currently wearing a Fat Face kind of outer mesh top with a vest sewn on inside and the vest is just falling down my shoulders.

I also have scoliosis which adds to the wonky boniness Angry.

I'm so frustrated with having to wear things that are high necked and long sleeved, or with a scarf round my neck even in summer simply because anything else makes me look anorexic, so just moaning really.

So any suggestions about shops which do good sizings for small framed women?

H&M usually run on the smaller side so they could be worth a look?

Hmmm, well I'm not sure what size you are from your description but I bet you could look fab! If you're self conscious about looking too thin, try thin layers. Pretty lace top vest with a fitted denim or cotton shirt? White shirt with a fitted cardi on top. I would love to get my hands on you and take you shopping! Have a personal shopper for an hour? High street wise, pretty sure debenhams & house of Fraser do it. Through being on MN I discovered Boden. I went on last night for a look and ordered a lovely halter neck dress I couldn't afford! They have a style maker and you input your shape and a few measurements, it then recommends styles for you. Give it a go from comfort of your own sofa if you don't fancy the personal shopper idea. Hope that helps! Let me know how you get on!

Thanks for the replies Hopasholic and OneLittleLady. Sorry - I forgot to say - I'm a size 8 generally, and am 5 ft 7. I look taller because of my thinness. I do like the thin layers look, but all the vests I find are too wide and expose my bony chest! I'd like to find some nice high ones if possible. My arms are ok - long and thin to match the rest of me, but I do a lot of sailing and so there's a bit of shape and bulk to them to negate their otherwise spaghetti like qualities!

Next time I am upcountry (i.e. away from the retail desert that is West Cornwall :o ) might give the personal shopper a go. In the meantime I will check out the Boden website.

hi, we are probably a similar shape - I'm a dress size smaller and 5'4. very narrow shoulders here too! I find fitted things make me look less bony on my top half, the best vests I've found are h and m, they also do good cotton cardis. you can add jeans to dress down, or dress up with a skirt and heels. Look at the euro equivalent sizing to see what is a small 8, I choose euro 34 rather than 36 but a lot of high street shops have 36 as their 8 which is always huge on the top half for me.
