Do you change colours as you get older

Inspired by a thread on here yesterday about having your colours done, it made me think about mine, I had it done 15 years ago at Colour Me Beautiful.

I was a Light Spring.

Does anyone know, do you stay the same or change as you age?

At the time I found it really helpful and bought a lot of clothes in the right colours then in the last couple of years I have been very depressed and put a lot of weight on (4 MC's have damaged me) and just worn sacks anything I can get cheap that will fit me.

I'm now trying to pull myself back together. I have lost some weight and need to buy some new clothes.

I don't know whether to stick the the palette or not?

Would it be the same 15 years on?
Do you have to keep getting it redone?

My hair is mousy brown dyed blonde, blue eyes, tendency to pink/redness in face. Tend to suit pale pink, red, baby blue v good colour on me

I think, you don't change season, just the colours that suit you best in that palette change

Yes you can change. if for example your hair goes white or grey then that's very different from being raven haired. Also your skin tone fades with age. I had CMB done years back and TBH I am not sure she got it right- she said i was between 2 types and she dithered Angry Many of the light strping shades didn't suit me- too harsh.

I have since bought the book Colour me Confident and think it's quite easy to use at home- I think I am a 'soft- or a Light & Cool, or a Cool and Soft!

Basically they are all pastel type shades with more blue than olive green which tend to work for me- am dark blonde with very pals skin.

Thanks for the replies

I'm going to buy the book and see if it helps!

A friend bought me a scarf yesterday in a sort of mid grey colour and I looked at it and thought it was lovely but wouldnt suit me at all but I tried it on and it looked great- I went back to my CMB book and the shade is actually in there, so I'm going to persevere a bit. Maybe this is one of those colours in my palette that suits me more now?

Interesting what you say Bella about being in between 2 types- i think that might be the issue with me.

According to House of colour you won't change type but your wow colours within your palette can change as you age. Doesn't matter if your hair goes grey etc. I think one of the single biggest differences you can make is wearing the right lip colour. For a light spring Mac "see sheer" would be amazing

Ooh thanks
I'm a bit scared of the Mac Counter, I feel like a 'non trendy' bell will sound when I approach Blush
I'll have to get my courage up this week when I'm in town and try it!

Lots of their stuff is a bit scary to me too but I love see sheer and crosswires is a great going out lippy for a spring
Also have a look at max factor pink brandy and coral betwitched
