Please help me choose between these 2 dresses for a wedding

Both similarish in styles.

Dress 1 i141.photobucket.com/albums/r75/choceyes/TSdress1_zpsec67b468.png

Dress 2 i141.photobucket.com/albums/r75/choceyes/untitled_zpsf858db28.png

I know that dress 2 is probably more weddingy, but I think dress 1 will suit me better. Dress 1 is available in a petite size and I'm 5'2. Dress 2 might be two low cut at the front for me too and my bra might show up. I've not had much luck finding a plunge bra for my size of 28F.
Also I'm thinking that dress 1 might be easier to accessorise, with nude/cream heals, cream clutch bag and head piece.

I'm buying either new on Ebay, so can't try out before buying.

Help!!

I prefer the first one, I don't like the neckline on the second one.

choceyes · 05/06/2013 11:02

ooh thanks OneLittleLady. I also not keen on the neckline on the 2ns one and prefer the first. Do you think the first one is dressy enough for a wedding though? I'm a bit worried that it looks a bit too casual.

Mollydoggerson · 05/06/2013 11:02

I prefer the first one too.

MortifiedAdams · 05/06/2013 11:02

First one.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 05/06/2013 11:02

First one, very nice.

ItsallisnowaFeegle · 05/06/2013 11:03

I do prefer the second dress but if the first is better for you, it'll make all the difference to how you feel if you go for that one.

Both lovely though. Win win Grin

BunnyLebowski · 05/06/2013 11:03

I don't think either are suitable for a wedding but the first one is nicer.

choceyes · 05/06/2013 11:05

more likes for the first one! yay!

1st one (& I feel your pain - am currently on the Great Wedding Dress for Guest Hunt!)

Why not Bunny?

choceyes · 05/06/2013 11:10

BunnyLebowski - do you think the first one is too casual for a wedding? even if dressed up with heels and head piece etc? Maybe you are right.
The wedding is I think going to be a relaxed affair, afternoon tea after the ceremony and disco and food in the evening.

OP posts:
CurlsRUs · 05/06/2013 11:12

I prefer the first one. And I think you'd get more wear out of it after the wedding, too.

BunnyLebowski · 05/06/2013 11:13

They're both too short.

The first one is too casual - a work dress.

The second one is a bit TOWIE.

Just my opinion obviously Smile

EugenesAxe · 05/06/2013 11:15

I don't really like the first at all - I'm crap! I suppose if you're small it won't be quite so much... gaaaah! I'm blind! as it would be on a large person.

ifancyashandy · 05/06/2013 11:17

I'm having the 'everything is too TOWIE' problem. Or 'everything is too Kate Middleton'. Neither of these looks are desirable IMO? Am trawling theoutnet.com on an hourly basis!

choceyes · 05/06/2013 11:20

I get what you mean Bunny. Although I've never seen TOWIE so I don't know how they dress!

Thing is dress 1 is really ME. I don't like wearing very formal dresses which require strapless bras, straps that fall on and off, diamante, studded stuff etc . Also I'm short and a size 6/8 so most of this kind of dress drowns me and I feel silly in them.
Dress 1 is short, but as the top half is covered up and I have also have nice legs it'll look decent enough I think.
But I do worry about it looking too casual as you said.

Because you are petite I think the spotty one will look like a child's dress!

The other one is a bit matronly in the fabric.

I think a fit and flare style is lovely on a petite figure but neither dress does it for me.

dexter73 · 05/06/2013 11:23

I prefer dress 2 for a wedding but if you prefer dress 1 then it seems like a no-brainer!

choceyes · 05/06/2013 11:30

SundaySimmons - yes I like the fit and flare look. I will have a look for other dresses like this which is more suitable for a wedding.

OP posts:
FossilMum · 05/06/2013 11:33

The second says 'party' more, but I like the spotty one better and think both are nice and both are suitable. Go for the spotty one if you think the fit will be better. I'm 5 foot and IME no 'fit and flare' dress has a hope of fitting properly unless it's a petite sizing. It'll look perfectly wedding-y once you've added suitable shoes, bag, maybe a nice short cardi/jacket if cool.

This would be cute for a wedding and easy to get shoes and accessories.

It's kind of reminiscent of the sixties when everyone was petite!

choceyes · 05/06/2013 11:35

Quite like this one

Peach is good colour for me as I'm dark skinned. Only size 14 available online though. Will check in town today.

OP posts:
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 05/06/2013 11:37

I prefer the second one, and it would be just as easy to accessorise with nude items.

choceyes · 05/06/2013 11:37

urgh the back in lowcut in that one. Not sure if bra will show.

OP posts:
choceyes · 05/06/2013 11:42

SundaySimmons - I do like that dress, it's really cute, but I don't like sleeveless, despite being petite and having slim arms I feel self concious somehow. But I do like getting my legs out!

OP posts:
SparkyTGD · 05/06/2013 11:42

1st one, 2nd is too low cut.

I think non-fussy dresses are fine for wedding guests. Some accessories can make it look more dressy IMO.
