Be honest with me - these shoes are frumpy, aren't they?

Middle-aged, trying not to be too frumpy but need to be comfy. Hit me with it, these shoes need to go back, don't they?

They are frightfully old lady frumpy, sorry.

1 of the first reviews mentions their suitability for bunion sufferers which confirms their demographic.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/06/2013 14:37

I'm 26 and think they are OK. I love high heels and have a shoe fetish, but would happily wear those for walking to/from work or shopping.

JamEyelid · 05/06/2013 14:50

I'm 26 and I would wear them, infact I have just bought some that are way frumpier than those. I have bought lots of shoes recently that are nice but cut my feet to shreds so I am embracing the frump.

Wowserz129 · 05/06/2013 14:55

Frumpy and expensive! Shock

BobblyGussets · 05/06/2013 14:55

I am fourty and have a bunion, nothing to do with age, as my 32 year old bunion suffering sister would tell you.
The shoes look ok: definitely less cheap looking than ballet flats, which o couldn't wear and don't like anyway.
Some one needs to put me straight about S&B MN: how come some dog shit brown, blokey style, god awful brogues are featured on MN swears by, but these fairly neutral looking shoes are old and frumpy-stylee? Those brogues were the pits. I was agast when I saw them on swears byConfused

Owllady · 05/06/2013 15:00

it depends what they are for. I used to wear sensible shows for work as I was on myf eet all day and tbh they look fine if you have to be on your feet all day as comfort does come above look in those situations

Owllady · 05/06/2013 15:01

i'm 35 btw!

theoriginalandbestrookie · 05/06/2013 15:01

I quite like them, and the cheaper versions will not be as comfortable , but then I'm 43 and my mother has started admiring my recent shoe purchases, so clearly not on trent anymore.

Snowgirl1 · 05/06/2013 15:11

I'm 42 and think they're rather frumpy. I totally understand the need for comfortable shoes, but I wouldn't wear those.

Startail · 05/06/2013 15:19

Those are frumpy with the sort of below the knee dress that needs wedge sandals.

They are perfectly acceptable with the right outfit

higgle · 05/06/2013 15:21

I got my Hush Puppy version ( they really are very similar) to wear with a black and white print linen Toast Skirt with sort of matching dip dyed cardigan and a black Toast top. I thought I looked pretty cool in them, whilst making some concessions to comfort. ( and because I was broke after buying all those nice Toast things) The ASOS featured ones are not comfortable as they have thin soles, and that style is very difficult to keep on your feet. There is a feature in The Guardian today about running with bunions and they are not the preserve of those middle aged + - in the comments on the article there were several people in their 20's who had had bunion surgery.

JazzDalek · 05/06/2013 17:10

I am 34 and would wear them if I needed a pair of black pumps.

LulaPalooza · 05/06/2013 17:32

I'm 41 and think they are quite frumpy, sorry. I wouldn't wear them.

I know for a fact that my DM, who is 64, would also refuse to wear them on the same grounds.

themaltesecat · 05/06/2013 17:49

I am 28.

I think they're lovely.

BabyRuSh · 05/06/2013 18:01

I like them. But I value comfort over style anytime. I do walk a lot for work though and cant be bothered with heels or support less pumps anymore. I'm 32

twofingerstoGideon · 05/06/2013 18:40

I like them, too!
proper, actual frump shoe
