Where can I take my DD to have her ears pierced (Essex/London)

My DD is 11 next month and has decided that if she is allowed to wear earrings for secondary (except PE ) then she would like them done.
(Her present school -she's Yr6- doesn't allow them at all )

I could arrange during the 6 weeks holidays at the start of it.

Soooooooo:
I've heard good and bad about Claires
I don't know if I could take her into one of those 'piercing' places - the ones that do body piercing and the like.(She's under 18)

A good jewellers?

I've heard people recommend the sterile needle method rather than a gun?

Any ideas. I'll look into it before I decide and I'll need to make sure she's 100% sure of what she's doing.

Thanks TIA

Selfridges. I took my DD here - they use a one time piercing gun and were SO helpful and nice. Will be taking DD2 there when she wants hers done.

Topshop in Oxford St have a very good piercing salon, they do children over 10.

I took DD to Metal Morphose in Topshop on Oxford St for her 11th birthday ear piercing. They were very good, advising Titanium studs, were clear with her that it would hurt and had a long, adult discussion about cleaning

OK that gives me some ideas to check out. We can get to London easily (I'd just need to make sure no-one bumps her ears on the Underground)

Can I ask what the price is, I have no idea (and I'd guess titanium studs would be more than standard 9ct gold)
Is there less allergy risk with Titanium?

Def go for titanium or niobidium or surgical plastic. Less likely to irritate. There is very little gold in 9ct.

Do they use a needle in the Top Shop place?
