Shorts to wear under summer dress that don't add bulk?

I find most dresses too short when dealing with toddlers.. Ie ok when standing upright, but when bending, reveals all, so I am too conscious to wear them. I was alo at the park the other day and when another mum bent over to dcs, I kept getting full view of her pants... (I tried not to look, but my eyes were drawn...). I was trying to decide whether to tell her, but her husband was there and could have seen to, and anyway she may have been ok with it.

I thought I could buy some shorts for under dresses, a bit like wearing tunic and shorts, but dress with shorts...

Yes boyshorts are your friend especially if in bright colours.

Nehru wore sensible shorts with lots of pockets and toggles. She was very prepared. Wink

I am so with you, OP! Dresses are pretty much tunics these days (shows age.) I'm 5'8" and, while skinny-thighed shortarses may be able to run around in 90cm of fabric without looking as though they forgot half their clothes, the embarrassment potential for me is worrying.

Compression shorts. Perfect. Boy shorts with actual legs would be okay, but mine don't cover any thigh. Come to think of it, I have seen bikinis with little legs on the bottoms - I'll revisit that!

garlicgrump · 03/06/2013 21:17

Grin Nehru
