Has anyone used one of these for facial hair before?

or similar? They are only about £1 on amazon and I've seen supposedly good things about them but don't know anyone who has used one

I have the 99p ones from ebay - I think they're great, do it in front of the telly every 2/3 days

SirRaymondClench · 01/06/2013 17:15

Does it hurt? And do you find the hair grows back thicker or faster?

Not really - you do get used to it, I prefer my skin to be damp, that seem to lessen the pain. Don't think it grows back thicker/faster....

It's the same effect as threading and I haven't noticed it growing back any faster - I have a lot of hair on chin and upper lip and my 99p version from amazon has saved me a fortune - like Cardoon I use every 2/3 days while watching telly - pain wise I hardly notice but having had PCOS for 20 years I have been through every hair removal system known to woman kind and barely notice it!

I bought one from Amazon after people raving about them on here.Terrible things. Painful and useless.

cardoon · 01/06/2013 22:32

I think you need to get the technique right - once you do it's very effective and really not all that painful. I've just ordered a couple more as I'd hate to find myself without one. Smile

Made my eyes water it was so painful and I'm hard core normally!

SirRaymondClench · 02/06/2013 00:13

I've ordered one and am a bit worried by the bad reviews here because I really want this to work. Will have to watch lots of youtube vids of it I guess.

Why worry its only a £1 what's the worst that could happen.

SirRaymondClench · 02/06/2013 00:31

It's not the £1, I just really want this to work because I'm fed up with tweezing, waxing, threading etc. This would be quick (and cheap)

Once you've got your technique right, an inward rolling motion (there are tutorials on youtube but it's very simple), it's very easy to use.

When you're yanking hairs out of your face by the root it will never be painless but it's the best method for me. I was concerned that wax strips would give me wrinkles over time, bleaching still gives a hairy profile, a friend of mine developed darker pigmentation on her face after using hair removal creams for decades which scared me (also I hated the texture of my lip after using them), and plucking is time consuming. So the little removal spring works best for me Smile
