House of Colour- Colours/ Style Day

I have been reading a bit on here lately and notice that there are lots of threads about having colours done, House of Colour, etc. It seems that lots of people have had very positive experiences of having their colours done.
I have completed my family now and want to do something for myself after years of running around constantly after the children. I don't have a lot of money to spend but feel as if I could do with a wardrobe revamp and I want to spend my money smartly.

So, do people recommend a style day as well as colours? Can anyone share their experiences? Do you think it helps you actually save money as they claim on the HOC website?
Lastly, any recommendations for a Consultant in Hampshire or Dorset?

I feel like people will think I'm in HoC's pay, but I recently had my colours done and it was great. My diagnosis was a real surprise but honestly, I even enjoy doing the washing now to see all my beautifully coordinating clothes. The session itself was really fun, very personalised and in depth. Getting dressed is fun everyday, and i finally see the point of jewellry and scarves. The only downside is way too much time spent Internet browsing now...

Oh, and I plan to book the style day before I do any expensive A/W shopping.

I have recently had both my colours done and a style day. For me they clarified what I probably already knew - why I felt more comfortable in certain things than others - but it was great to know and pinpoint. And now I won't be wasting any more money on the wrong stuff. I love going into a shop and ignoring whole racks of the wrong colour.
If you can only do one then colours is enough tbh.

I had colours done, then style a year later (both House of Colour). Since the style, I haven't bought anything that sits in my wardrobe unworn with me wondering why Grin I found the style "type" aspect really helpful in understanding why although some styles looked OK on my body shape, they didn't feel like "me". I'm not sure I spend less overall, but I have bought less and would be happy to spend a lot on a single item because I know it's right, whereas before I'd have been a bit nervous.

I'm less keen on the Colour Me Beautiful approach to colour than HoC's, but a friend had their style day recently and I thought that looked really good; very clear advice about shapes etc.

I've had my colours done and a style day with HoC (fab lady in Thame, Oxon), and if anything i found the style day even better than the colours session. but maybe thats because I was just so clueless before!!

She asked me to bring along things I felt good in and also things I had bought but never worn and helped me identify why. Really good experience.

All i'd say is that you need to find a consultant you feel v comfortable with
