spotty upper arms - yuck!

This is really a body question, but doesn't quite fit in health, so here goes: anyone else got bumpy, red upper arms? Think it's called something like keratosis pilaris. Despite daily body brushing it still looks really awful and I would like to wear t-shirst this summer... I'm trying some cream by Eucerin with urea in it, but so far nothing has improved. Has anyone had the same problem and sorted it?

Ok, I don't knw if these 2 things are related or not but until a couple of months ago I had this and also spots on my face. NOt full-blown acne, but I had at least several spots on my face all the time since about aged 11 (am 26 now).

In March I changed to Goats milk, goats cheese etc and try to stay off dairy as much as I can.

Since this change the tops of may arms are smooth and my spots have cleared up (apart from 1 today, which is probably because I didn't wash my make-up off wed night).

Bizarre, a coincidence, or do you think the 2 are linked?

Mun2ela Sorry about the silly question in advance but can you use goats milk like you would cows milk, in your coffee and on your cereal?

This is timely as I have this too. It is quite mild but can flare up badly if I rub it. I recently tried a detox diet which cut out wheat, dairy, alcohol, meat and caffiene. My arms were softer within 2 days! I had been wondering whether it was the lack of dairy which helped, so Mum2Ela, your theory may be right. I'm back on dairy now and it has returned.

Hollyboo, exactly the same as far as I know. I use it exactly the same and personally I don't think it tastes any different, but DD had some cows milk recently at a friends house and she tasted it and said 'yuk'. The friends mother asked her what type of milk she has at home and DD said 'we get our milk from small cows'! Bless.

Bagpuss30, many people tell me I am mad but I am convinced its dietry linked.

I also wonder re dairy, as I cut out all dairy for a long time, then went back to hard cheeses and yogurt. I virtually never have milk any more. But when I cut milk out of dd's diet for 6m it made no difference to her arms. I didn't cut out all cheese and yogurt - maybe I should have tried that.

Wonder if it's hormone related as I had it when going through puberty and when pregnant (and as I had ds at 34, the two were years apart). My gut instinct is that it's hormone or nutrition related and possibly a combination of the two. However, exfoliating did help.
