Gross sorry - upper lip hair removal question

Are spots unavoidable after waxing/threading? I've been putting off getting into a regular tache removal routine as always get spots if I wax it, which looks worse than the hair. I'm blonde and not too hairy so think have got away with it. But now have noticed a couple of darker hairs so can't any longer. Tried threading at home from a YouTube tutorial and ended up with spots for a couple of days, though nothing horrific. Waxing always the same too.

Is it because I'm doing it myself? Am I just grubby? Any tips or wonder products? Fwiw I always had the same thing after bikini waxing, both home and salon ones.

I use a facial hair remover for sensitive skin, think it's Nair. After using it I give myself a moustache and beard like santa of Sudacrem.

Works a treat and I have a 'tache like Freddie Mercury.

I use a little £1.99 epilator, it just looks like a long spring with plastic knobs on the end. Works like a charm, I just run it over my lip every few days for maintenance. I think it's called a hair removal device, there are loads of them on ebay.

I apply a thin layer of vaseline before putting on hair removal cream (Boots or superdrug brand). This stops the redness that you get and the stinging srnsation if you have sensitive skin. Also do it before you go to bed so your skin is back to normal in the morning.

Facial hair trimmer here too (JML or there are other brands). Does my nose and chin hair too! It's the only thing that works for me, leaving no rash or spots. I do my bikini line with it too.

I used to get the same problem - a spot moustashe instead of a hair one - great! I use veet now.
