What would you put with this skirt?

I love this skirt to wear for my 30th birthday meal and DS's baptism. here but I'm not sure what to wear with it (don't suggest the crop top that goes with it - DS is 4 weeks old and my stomach is not ready to be scrutinised!)

I was thinking maybe a silky T-shirt or something? Or a blouse? It will need to accommodate possibly leaky BFing boobs! What shoes would work?

I'm 29. Size 10 (but wobbly post-baby tum). 30J bust.

Are you absolutely set on the skirt? I had similar ample boobs and proportions after having ds and I think a skirt like that teamed with my huge chest would have been frumpville central. Have you tried it on to see how it fits?

Not absolutely set on it, no. I'm going to try it tomorrow without a toddler and with DM to hold the baby! I just thought separates would be easier to work with than a dress and I love the pattern of the skirt.

Have you seen anything more appropriate? I must admit, I do wish my boobs were smaller but, even when not BFing, they are huge. It makes me sad there are so many nice things I can't get away with!

My ds just turned one so its been a while since I was in a position to need anything. But, I'd say start with decent undies, especially as at both occasions there's likely to be lots of pictures taken. I swear by Anita underwired nursing bras to give a decent shape, but even consider a normal bra, I'm quite adept at just yanking the cups down now, and I think a moulded cup hides any leaks or breast pads better.
As for the outfit, it depends entirely on your style. You're my age but obviously far more trendy as I've not ventured into topshop for a good couple of years. That outfit also (sorry) reminds me of something I might find in the one pound bin in a charity shop. It's going to date incredibly quickly, if that matters. If your figure I still changing, I'd go for as good quality as you can buy for relatively little money. I found h and m had some great stuff when I went in with my sister recently.

I wouldn't pair the top with the skirt (or the shoes for that matter) but I do like midi skirts! They cover the knees but show the thinnest bit of the legs.

I was thinking midi skirt + nice top + good shoes would be appropriate for both events without making me feel too exposed when I'm still above my fighting weight!

I like this floral midi very much...i'd wear it with a scoop neck T in any of the colours on the pattern and a cute 3/4 sleeve cardi - lovely!

Could go with a black top for the meal and maybe a white, bright or pastel top for the baptism?

Would you wear a dress? I don't have a big bust jealous so I don't know if it would work... Along these lines?

We that dress is gorgeous (and I originally wanted a dress) but I wasn't sure how I'd BF in a dress without everyone seeing my pants and/or boobs.

Ah.... The old dilemma of how to rock a gorgeous dress and feed at the same time! I've just been through that for DDs christening.

I wore a blue version of this with breastfeeding top underneath. It looks odd in the picture because they've put a contrasting bra underneath the vest top, but it works so well. I wore peep toe shoes which had enough heel to be feminine but not enough to make me wobbly while carrying DD.

This link is useful for tops and dresses which are fine for feeding. And I promise that although the Rooti Tooti top looks weird in the pictures it's one of the best buys I've ever made for breast feeding :)

Yes, nursing bra on too. I just tuck the drop cup under it and it gives enough room to feed but completely covers my boob and tummy too.

The dress has buttons down to the waistband so I just unbuttoned and pulled it to one side. As I had the other top on, I was still completely covered.

A wrap top like ^ works fantastically with the Rooti top. It's my staple wardrobe!

Oh I can see the benefit of a wrap too with the feeding vest! I think I'll try the skirt tomorrow to see if it's frumpy on me. I think I'll definitely get the vest as it'll come in very handy.

Right. Been round the shops and saw nothing I like. Went to topshop to try the skirt on but they only had a six or sixteen!
