High street or premium denim?

Curious to hear your opinions. I'm not after purchasing at the moment, but am intrigued as to what other people think about the quality difference, and if you think there even is one.

I have a pair of 7forallmankind jeans, about 2 yrs old now, and love them to bits - great fit, perfect for my shape, etc. But my 5 yr old Tophop Baxter's are still going strong and are absolutely not inferior to them in quality. They wash well, wear after wear and the denim is still lovely.

Problem is, in my opinion, it's totally hit and miss with high street. I have noticed that current Baxter's are thinner and the sizing has gone nuts, so maybe premium is more reliable?

Thoughts?

Anyone able to tell me what the best jeans (premium or not) are for pear shapes? Have recently lost some weight and am wondering whether to treat myself...

I think the oasis cherry are highly rated for pear shapes, not sure about premium though. Take a look on the Donna Ida website as they have jeans for different bodyshapes.

I would recommend Levis Curve Whoah.

I awlays thought most jeans were made for pear shapes, probably because I'm not one, and I always find it difficult to find the perfect pair.

If they fit my waist, they're larger everywhere else, unlike the usual complaint of the opposite. I'm a bit of a ruler, and have a short torso, so my waist 'seems' bigger than what it is. Not sure if this will make sense!
I avoid elastic waistbands like the plague Grin

The Oasis jeans are wonderful, but a bit higher waisted than I'd prefer. Then again my 7FAM jeans are so low waisted that I have to be careful with what top I wear to them.

I also miss the less fitted jeans styles that were still around in the early 2000's.
I remember having these slightly loose fit Moto jeans from Topshop that I wore to death and adored. Never had to worry about sizing as much because the super skinny fit wasn't as prevalent.

When people say we still have different jeans styles to choose from I actually disagree: most are absolutely skin tight, even bootcut and straight jeans are only relaxed from the knee down.
