Best summer shoes for Plantar Fasciitis

I injured my knee last year and as a result of limping, I damaged my plantar fascia ligament in my right foot. Last year, I was in constant daily pain through the summer. This stopped in the Autumn when I started wearing better supporting shoes, I have lived in my Sorel snow boots all winter!!!

Now that it is sunny again, I am back in Birkenstocks, plimsoles and canvas trainers but I can feel the pain starting again.

Any long term suffers care to share their wisdom / experiences good and bad?

I've suffered with right foot and find skechers go walk plimsolls so comfy. They might not win any fashion awards but they are quite funky and like walking with nothing on your feet in all honesty.

You really need support at the back of the shoe if you have a foot condition which is why Birkenstocks, Fitflops, flipflops etc are a bad idea.
Anything where your muscles have to work to keep the shoe on is not good for the feet

Sorry to resurrect an old thread! Just wondering what PF suffers wear in Autumn and winter? I tried on a few different styles of Fitflop boots today, but they were all pretty ugly. And expensive!

I've tried many many shoes for this and my best advice is Crocs wedge sandals. They make a number of styles, which have different fits across the top -- some are tight and would suit a narrow foot while others are looser across the top. Order a selection from Amazon so you can send back whatever doesn't suit your foot. All of their sandals have that squishy Crocs foam sole, and good arch support, so they are perfect for cushioning and supporting.

I have had plantar fasciitis for over 3 years. I used to love running every morning before work.Once I acquired Plantar Fasciitis I had to endure the pain until I could no longer run at all. Over the years I have tried many different things. Nights splints used to work in the beginning but after a while, I felt no difference in the morning. I got two cortisone shots, it was ok at first but once i started to run again the pain was back, and for some reason felt even worst than before. So, I browsed the internet found this site www.howtocureplantarfasciiitis.org found out about different stretches, I brought this little e-book i think it's was like thirty dollars , did all the stuff it said and after about 3 weeks I'm still pain-free. May not work for everyone but it worked for me.

Well I moved on from my Asics Gel hockey pro's to the new gel platinum LE bestoutdooritems.com/best-asics-shoes-for-plantar-fasciitis/ after some issues over the size (the new asics size 9.5 is the same as the old 10.5 !) I have a pair that fit. However I have a nice big blister on my heel, hopefully this is new shoe syndrome and not a lasting issue !
