Lol, good luck with that!

If it doesn't come off eBay or have cashback I ain't interested!

Was it to do with colour? It might mean that your hair takes up colour quickly, and therefore that they might not want to leave it on as long!

ilovepowerhoop · 15/04/2013 20:06

absorbs a lot of water? would soak up a lot of hair dye? what was the context?

Juniperdewdropofbrandy · 15/04/2013 20:08

It's to do with the cuticle along the hair shaft. Usually because of chemical use. If it's too lifted (think scales on a fish) then the hair will be rough and any colour going in will come out easily. That's why red comes out quickly, the molecules are small so even people with non porous hair find red fades quicker than other shades.
Here this is a decent diagram.

I can't remember the context, I don't dye it.

I was wondering if it means it soaks up conditioner more.

So you've never used chemicals on it? Is it frizzy at all?

It will soak up the conditioner and shampoo but not massively. Or the stylist could have been wrong of course Wink

Is it shiny? Very porous hair isn't.

Jellykat · 15/04/2013 20:21

Doesn't it basically mean it's dry?

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/04/2013 20:23

No chemicals, I have been skimping on hair care but I've gone back to Aveda damage remedy.

Hopefully my Parlux will be here and that will help won't it?

Kinda shiny, bit dry at the ends.

Bugger.

Mine say it when they're moaning about how long it takes to blow dry it

Juniperdewdropofbrandy · 15/04/2013 20:38

So are you having the ends cut? Kinda shiny is ok Smile better than dull.

Just put treatments on the bits that need it.

Juniperdewdropofbrandy · 15/04/2013 20:39

Do you use straighteners or heat tools much? That damages it too obviously.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/04/2013 20:48

No, I stopped straightening because I wanted it flicky.

I'm going to put argan oil on tonight and see how it washes tomorrow.

Mine us porous but in good condition, just takes a long time to dry.

Juniperdewdropofbrandy · 15/04/2013 20:52

I wouldn't worry about it, maybe she'd just run out of small talk Grin

I'm a hairdresser btw.
