fillers and botox

I'm booked in next week. Botox for elevensies and crows feet and fillers nose to mouth lines. I'm scared. Anyone tell me what to expect?

I've not had fillers but a decent botox practitioner will ensure all forms are filled in with medical history etc. They should also mark on a face map where they inject you.

The jabs are not painful , more a pin prick that barely registers. Ask about op ups- my girl does top ups after a week if required. Don't lie down afterwards. My elevens are mow jon existant. Enjoy!

Botox for 11s doesn't hurt. Feels to me a bit like plucking your eyebrows - a little pinch, over in a second. Takes a week to kick in, so you won't see instant results. Fillers hurt more - you'll need numbing cream and lots of ice. Effects are instant though and you won't be able to stop staring in the mirror! I had minimal bruising for a few days but not really noticeable.

Botox works but fillers aren't worth it, imho.

Google the problems people have had with fillers. It will put you off.

Am thinking of getting Botox. But dithering. My crows feet are pronounced - lots of little crinkles rather than deep lines and I look tired (40; 2 young children - what a surprise). But otherwise my skin is ok, I hide my forehead with a fringe, and worried about ending up looking like Kylie/Nicole Kidman (i.e. looking fakey) or something going wrong. I keep on changing my mind. Don't want to hijack the thread but persuade me one way or the other!

Autumn, I ve dithered about it for years but need it now. I'm so excited about diminishing those nose to mouth lines, I keep wanting to call it labia but I know that's not right :)

Why are fillers not worth it? It's the most expensive and from what I've read its good. I'm worried now.

Nasolabial! See, not far off it.

The good new is that both botox and fillers are reversible treatments (although it will take some time to wear off though).

Fillers are not always/entirely reversible - I know one person who was left with permanent bags under her eyes due to fillers. Another who had huge dark bruises for months where they were injected.

I also have to mention a friend of a friend who got Morgellons following fillers. Two years on, she still has it.

It does become a necessity though! I haven't had any botox since October ish and I was contemplating not having it anymore but I just look soooo much better I am going to book for next week.

Thanks Cote, that's my worry. I know there's a small risk with any procedure hence the anxiety but I'm not sure I can avoid everything that holds a small risk. I probably should but I probably won't.

Cote the risks are something that worries me although to be honest it's noddy's experience that I really fear - a bit like the front of our house when we got the windows done, you have to do everything and I'll turn round and look like Kidman in a wind tunnel by Christmas! (obv with the proviso that I wish I looked like a film star, just not one with a fake frozen face!)

The risks are scary, but the difference tear trough fillers made to my face was amazing. I intend having them done again. I just hope that going to someone reputable again minimises the risk.

I am umming and ahhing over getting my forehead lines (I call them my 'really??' lines) done, but the thing that's stopping me is ending up going to some 'cowboy'.
Where do I start with finding a proper, qualified practicioner?

If you have a local private hospital like BUPA or Nuffiled then start there, looking at the plastic surgeons/consultants on their websites.

if you are in the south east then Dr Tracy Mountford has been awarded 'filler' expert and she works from Harley ST and Bucks.

Whereabouts in the country do you live Glimpers, and how far would you travel?

Another high recommendation for Dr Mountford. I have been going to her for 10 yrs. Her team never seems to leave. She has a light touch and is a known expert in the industry. She is in Stoke Poges (near Slough/Windsor). Plenty of parking.

Can someone tell me what tear troughs are?
Are they actually lines (wrinkles) under the eye? Or more like hollows?

tear troughs are literally troughs - hollows. Tracy M refused to do mine, said I'd be v disappointed for the money - very much appreciated that honesty (I get more of a hard upsell for other things from Janine)

I haven't got those but I do have horrid wrinkles under the eye that look awful. No idea what I can do about them as I've been told they're not treatable with botox / fillers, gutted!

I would be happy to go down that route if I knew it could be done!
