Are Radley bags really so awful?

DH bought me this bag for my birthday. I actually really love it but a 'friend' (work colleague really) has informed me that Radley are totally naffola and that everyone will now think I have no taste.

I don't normally give a toss what other people think of what I like or if I have taste or not (I probably don't!) but I'm actually a little hurt because DH put a lot of thought into it and got me one he knew I'd like. Which I do. I don't really know why I'm bothered, I suppose I just feel that she's pissed on my chips a bit.

My cousin buys fake Radley bags in Turkey which is a bit shit cause to be honest they aren't THAT expensive to buy.

People who sneer at Radley are just desperate to appear superior. The bags are classic shapes and not blingy, they last forever and age gracefully. DH got me one ages ago, I love it and anyone who thinks it naff shoots down in my estimation as a shallow airhead.

I love them. How rude of her. Does she wear designer stuff? I'd say something like 'are those real Prada shoes? Really?! Oh, I just thought they look a bit cheap. Are you sure they're not fake?'

Radley bags are well made, well designed and use good quality leather. They are timeless classics which will last you for years. Anyone who makes such comments values labels over friendship. Overpriced labels and undervalued friendships too. Hope her chavvy knock off Pravda bag keeps her warm on the long lonely winter nights.

I can't get the link :( I was looking at the radley bags today - some of them are OK (ish) some of them i really REALLY like - have always wanted one. For the yummy mummies at DD's school it is all about the mulberries, personally i think the Radley bags smell much nicer - yes, I have been in the shop today sniffing bags and prefering the new radley range because it SMELLS better than the mulberry. I can't afford either so it doesn't really matter. Some of the mulberry bags are really naff too!

I love Radley. I don't care what anybody else thinks - though nobody I know thinks they're naff. Ignore her! I have bag envy now, having seen yours!

That's a nice bag. I thought all radley bags had those horrible pink scottie dog tags hanging off them... THOSE are naff... but I guess they can always be removed.

Radley used to go in for twee pictures on their bags and dangly dogs, which caused accusations of naff ness. However their new ranges are classic shapes in good quality leather

I think you owe it to yourself to wear your bag with pride ( and maybe even get a few friends to say how lovely it is in front the snide person). To say something so rude is unforgivable. Your husband sounds lovely to have given so much thought and saving up effort.... If she isn't jealous she should be !

Radley bags are fab quality - have had two which have each lasted three years of being used on a daily basis, bashed about, stuffed far too full, an still looked smart up to the end.

Another one here with the radley vibe - 3 (2 work bags - one red, one navy/purple and a black cross body bag). Oh, and one travel sized fold up bag and one I carry in my big handbag all the time.

Oh and an umbrella. What can I say - DH knows I like Radley and lacks imagination. works for me!

I live on the edge of a vairy naice area, lots of class and money - every single woman I know has a number of Radley bags. I have one (and several from M & S ). Almost a staple wardrobe item round here, where top designer would be considered naff.

It looks really nice on the website! (and I wish all bag websites were as well designed as that one btw). I think it was particularly nasty of her to say that to you. If she says it again, say you think Prada is a bit too "mature" for you.

DP bought me a radley work bag years ago -and I still love it.

I like radley bags. I have a travel document holder, a travel card holder and a handbag. All lovely and I don't care what people say.
