we are extending in the summer and i'm going to decorate (well pay someone else to) every room in the house, our lounge currently has no lights in it?!?!?!? sure countess dracula live here prior to us (not CD who post on here i should add Grin), sooooo we will also be needing new fixtures ie lights, pics, and furniture which i have some ideas for, anyone wanting to offer some advice re colour schemes and anything else design related (not promising to use it but i'll consider anything) except in your face colours (like diy SOS the other night)

What sort of style do you like? \link{http://www.dwell.co.uk/\Dwell} are quite good for contemporary style stuff at fairly reasonable prices. But no good if you prefer something a bit more traditional.

Some lovely stuff \link{http://www.theperfectpad.co.uk/\here} too, but rather expensive!

what is house like - age / style etc?

In a nutshell, am a fan of dead flat neutral emulsion on walls. Farrow & Ball String colour, for relaxing rooms (living & bedrooms), a slightly yellowed white for spaces that need brightening (hall stairs landing), and a creamy yellow for v dark rooms (eg our small-windowed northfacing spare bedroom). One wall wallpaper also v cool in (eg) bedroom where you don't have to look at it too much.
