Having read about it on here, I decided I needed to try silicone free shampoo and conditioner. My hair seems the right type - very thick, very wavy.
Anyway, here I am a couple of months later. I'm well and truly silicone free. And my hair feels lovely, so soft. It used to look greasy quickly at the roots (even though I was careful and tried only to get conditioner on the ends of my hair) and that has definitely improved, and it no longer looks lank at the top. But...overall it doesn't look all that great! Its not as shiny as before, and its a bit hard to manage and flyaway. I've tried three different brands of shampoo and conditioner, so its not just that one particular brand doesn't suit.
I'd ideally like to be able to leave my hair for the waves to form naturally, but at the moment I feel I need to blow dry it straight, otherwise it just looks frizzy and nasty. When blowdrying I use a tiny little bit of Kiehls Creme with Silk Groom, and that makes it feel nice, but again, I can't say it looks that great.
So what now? Is there a miracle styling product that I need?
