Fitflop 'ballerinas' - what do you think?

Fitflop ballerinas

I have fitflop flip flops which I looove as they are sooo comfortable, but have resisted their other styles as I've always thought that they were a bit ugly, but now geisha ballerina shoes seem to be in fashion, could I get away with the fitflop ones??

id rather have an hour with a personal trainer for that price.

they look distinctly average

beanandspud · 23/03/2013 22:32

I thought they were ok until I looked at the price - not sure that they are worth£75 for 'ok'.

ivykaty44 · 23/03/2013 22:35

are they really comfy for walking to work? i have to walk a mile and a half each way and work walking around all day

BikeRunSki · 23/03/2013 22:36

I fancy them, and Tethers reports that they are nice IRL. I started a thread about them a couple of months ago.

RunningAgain · 23/03/2013 22:38

I thought they were called supernanny at first glance

BBMs · 23/03/2013 22:41

I love The fitflop brand and i have the sandals, trainers and boots... Tried on the ballerinas and are really uncomfortables!! You can try them on in John Lewis if you like... I didn't buy them...

Ginformation · 23/03/2013 22:42

I love my fitflops, it is all I have worn since spinal surgery. Very comfy but not frumpy. I have the Due ballerinas and wear them every day for work and I plan to order some of the canvas ones for summer as soon as I have saved enough. I am not sure my legs are any more toned, but lack of pain is the main attraction for me. I also have FF mukluks, trainers and sandals. Obsessed, me? Noooo...

A word about sizing, they are wide fitting so you may find you are a size smaller than standard shoes.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/03/2013 22:43

I love Fitflops - I don't know about the canvas but my Mukluks have lasted 3 years so far and I have 6 pairs of summer flip flops that are also really holding up well.

I know they're not pretty but they have made my scoliosis completely bearable.

Curtsey · 23/03/2013 22:49

Yes. Why not? Work the clean Riviera look. These are fine, they really are, and more importantly they are a supportive and comfortable summer shoe. People who have problems with their feet and back swear by FitFlops and I'm considering giving them a go myself. Pricey, yeah, but probably worth it. I'm not prepared to buy cool but sore and shitty summer shoes anymore, I'm really not. Spend a little bit of time on the rest of what you wear, and enjoy walking everywhere :)

ExRatty · 23/03/2013 23:05

I have the black leather ballerinas as I am old and my feet are knackered
They are very nice

Snowgirl1 · 24/03/2013 16:24

Custardo I know what you mean, but I don't wear fitflops flip flops for their claims that they tone your legs - I run to tone my legs. I wear fit flops purely because they're sooo comfortable - they don't shred my feet or cause blisters like virtually every other sandal/flip flop.

BBMs thanks for the heads up that they might be uncomfortable and that they stock them in JL. Think I'll go see them in the flesh and try 'em on.

Thanks everyone else, glad no-one's said they're hideously mumsy!

Oooh. I can't wear flip flops, just don't get on with the bit between your toes and I need a back on my shoes, but I love those ballerinas and the pumps. I have a never ending quest for comfy summer shoes that aren't too frumpy. I had no idea FitFlop did other styles.

I really love the red patent ballerinas. Reckon I could wear those for work Blush

BikeRunSki · 24/03/2013 17:46

They are usually a bit cheaper on Ward walkers.

bulletproofgerbil · 24/03/2013 17:54

I really like the look of these. Am going to try some on. I got Fitflop sandals last summer (not flip flop ones because they rub) and found them incredibly comfortable and great for my sore hip/legs. The ones I got did look frumpy though, but these I really like. I don't mind the price if they're comfortable. I had a pair of MBTs that cost and arm and a leg, but I lived in them for about 5 years, till they literally fell apart. Have never had anything that comfortable ever. But since the advent of skinny jeans, I think they'd look v v weird, so I haven't invested in any more.

polyhymnia · 24/03/2013 19:28

I'm a fan of Fitflops and have lots - though no toepost ones, as I find them agony.

Have the berry red patent Due ballerinas which I got reduced from Ward Walkers. Seem v comfortable but I haven't worn them yet, only because of the weather. I do plan to wear them with opaques and dresses when the current icy spell passes and I emerge from boots. But, when it comes to wearing them with my skinnies, socks and ballerinas don't seem a good look to me! I wear ballerinas a lot in spring/summer but always with bare legs.

Suppose I could try some nude 'pop socks' if I can find decent quality ones which don't look as if they are there at all. But I always feel pop socks are a bit frumpy...

Exratty or anyone else who actually has the Dues, what do you wear with them when you're wearing jeans/trousers?

Curtsey · 24/03/2013 19:51

polyhymnia

I managed to find some non-frumpy natural looking pop socks and wore them all last nonsummer. Couldn't tell you what brand they were, but they were a great solution. I tended to cuff my skinny jeans, it felt more summery :)

polyhymnia · 24/03/2013 20:59

Thanks will have a look for those. Agree that cuffed skinnies nice for summer.
