...lovely bright red scabs Sad

Really fed up as my skin had been picking up, and hasn't been too bad during my period, now I look like Kevin the teenager. Plus I have really bad cold and aren't sleeping well due to being bunged up so look knackered and grey....

What overnight miracle can take place to make them look less like my teenage zits for work?

Should I use a deep cleanse wash or just cleanse and tone and slather moisturiser on to try and help my skin repair overnight?

Sorry for lame post, just feeling poorly, tired and a bit fed up.

No help sorry but sympathy, I too have two angry red patches where I have picked spots. I just can't help it! I even picked one of them when I had a friend round the other day and had to get a tissue to soak the blood as it just carried on bleeding for ages. Blush

Cleanse and slap some sudocrem on them
and leave well alone

A good trick is to dab Vaseline on and then dab some loose powder over it and it magically hides the spot. Well, sort of.

IamthegreatProcrastinator · 19/03/2013 22:03

Toothpaste will dry them out. Savlon does do them good too.

TCP. Honestly, do it. You'll be shocked at the difference. I have horrendous skin at times and this has just cleared it right up in the last few weeks (slathering it in at night). it stinks to high heavens and stings a LOT, but it sorts out spots. I can't believe I've never tried it before, as I've used everything going on my face!

HaveAGoHeroine · 19/03/2013 22:22

Sudocrem will really help, I put it on thick and leave on overnight, it really helps.

I had to do a big presentation the other day to loads of people and yep, got a sore spot by the side of my nose the day before. Lovely.

I put a tiny dab of toothpaste right on it, but not the surrounding skin, and magically the next morning, it was still red, but flat! Easier to cover with make up.

If it's actually raw & bleeding, then hydrocolloid (moist wound healing plasters) are great- clean well, then trim a tiny circle & stick over the raw bit.
Leave on as long as you can - overnight should be just long enough to heal it up a bit so it doesn't scab & scar. (A trimmed down cold sore plaster can also be used but is thinner so doesn't work as well, but is more discreet).

I swear by La Roche Posay Effaclar AI - it's the best spot treatment I've ever used. Dab it on twice a day whenever you feel a spot is emerging. They disappear within days. No scarring. Also works for deep cysts. Combine it with the Effaclar foaming face wash used every night. These two simple products have transformed my skin. I have hormonal acne and vaseline/oil-based skincare and many face creams tend to aggravate it.
