Basically that's it really.

Need to update the makeup bag and wondered where/who best to go with.

skin is starting to get dry and lines are appearing (age?) so not sure if i should be going down the powder or cream route (blusher/bronzer!?!?)

Don't like all the "faff" with foundation, powder, concealer etc... just some quick colour and mascara type thing - very natural, but enhanced :)

Any help?

Have you tried any mineral makeup? It is a bit of a faff sometimes but I think the results are great [I'm 43]

Mumofjz · 18/03/2013 16:11

Never heard of it! What is it?

I would also recommend mineral make up (I'm 45) as it is actually good for your skin or so they say. Try Bare Minerals available in most big dept stores. No I don't work for them! It's quite expensive but lasts for ages as you don't use very much, HTH

What about a tinted moisturiser,(Laura Mercier is good but ££) a creamy blusher (Bar
bara Daly at Tescos does a good range) and a good mascara-I recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear and then Clinique Chubby Stick for lips-subtle wearable colour.

I use Bare Minerals and also www.lilylolo.co.uk/

Gah!!!! www.lilylolo.co.uk/

WipsGlitter · 18/03/2013 20:06

I had my make up done by benefit today (off work, time to kill). They used an eye thing - 6 colours and their mascara. I bought them both! Go to a big department store and have a potter round.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/03/2013 20:06

Bare Minerals are good (but I can no longer afford them, sadly). If you are not super-pale, the Garnier anti-aging BB cream isn't bad.
Benetint for cheeks.
Lancome Definicils for mascara.

I'm newly a convert to Dr Jart BB cream. I use the premium which is for older skins. I've never been a foundation wearer but I find this to be a revelation.

I also second lilylolo.

Mumofjz · 19/03/2013 12:55

I am going to have to go the the department stores aren't i?????

can't think of any worse though than sat there whislt some young makeup clad girl put all manner of make up me and everyone walks past!!!!!

Bobbi Brown counters are good , also Space NK branches .

neriberi · 19/03/2013 14:07

I use bobbi brown foundation for work and a tinted tinted moisturiser for all other times, I also find the girls on any BB counter I've been too super helpful + if you ask you may be able to blag some free samples before going for the big purchase, otherwise you can order samples from lilylolo and if you ask at a bareminerals counter you might be able to pick up some samples.
