Cellulite on a thin person. What can I do?

So, that's my problem. I really don't need to lose weight (size6-8) and my legs are actually one of my slimmest parts but I have got definite orange peel issues from back of mid-thigh to bottom. What, if anything, can I do???

Body brushing is good and also drinking lots of water. Try and cut out artificial sugars / sweeteners from your diet too.

agree with sweetheart - but you'll have to cut out more toxins, caffiene, alcohol etc. Do you drink herbal teas? Green tea is very good as is camomile for reducing toxins.

I don't there are any fixes once you have it tbh.

If you stop drinking tea, coffee and cola you'll see a dramatic difference within days. I did this because of problems with sleeping and was astonished by the unexpected but very welcome side effects Grin

Squats.

Definitely body brushing. I'm crap at remembering, but when I do it for a few weeks I see a huge difference.

Robininred · 15/03/2013 12:31

OP I have the same problem. I am only size 6-8 so hardly overweight, but since I turned 30 I have cellulite pretty badly. I exercise too so am not unfit.

I will try the body brushing and I do drink lots of tea - should I replace with green tea?

There is something you can do, but the treatment is not very nice.

Lipodissolve injections will get rid of it. I've had this done, and it does work. Basically it involves a doctor injecting lots of little amounts of fluid under the skin which dissolves the fatty bits. It doesnt' get rid of a lot of fat, the reduction is subtle, but would make a good difference to cellulite.

It is not very expensive (hundreds of pounds as opposed to thousands).

The downside is that the injected area is sore, really sore, and puffy for three to four days afterwards then the swelling goes down and the area reduces in size and looks a lot smoother.

Lipodissolve got bad press in the UK because, insanely, you don't have to be medically qualified to inject it, which is disgraceful, and backstreet places did it and caused problems. If it's done by an actual doctor then it's an effective treatment and quite well known in the US and the antipodes.

If the thought of having injections to dissolve fat are horrific, I have not tried this but apparently in France (where presumably there are lots of very slim women who want smooth legs?) the treatment is endermologie - sounds like a machine pummels the skin and massages the orange peel away. Absolutely no idea of efficacy but it does make a bit of sense, and it's non-invasive.

Maybe someone who has lived in France and had endormologie done can comment?

Thanks for advice.

I do drink a lot of caffeinated drinks but not much alcohol and I've been vegetarian for over 20 years so diet pretty full of veg etc.

I will try to cut down on the caffeine. Don't really like the thought of injections but I might try body brushing. Would a course of massage help? Just wondering if it might be worth investing in that before summer.

Definitely cut down on caffeine, it's terrible for cellulite.

Another fan of body brushing here, it really does help. I follow that by massaging (quite deeply) and using Niveas anti cellulite cream, it's only about £10.

After a few weeks of doing this every night and also drinking lots of water I noticed a big improvement.

Dior Svelte cream is really good too but alot more expensive.
