Ultrasonic liposculpture - anyone had it done?

I've been thinking about getting this done as it's not dangerous like liposuction or invasive like other forms of liposculpture. It's also a lot cheaper. But does it actually do anything? It would be good to hear of others' experiences. Smile

Vaser lipo is the one you want, I've not had it yet myself but am very close to taking the plunge.

Vaser lipo? Tell us more?

SofaCanary · 14/03/2013 12:45

It's done by injecting anaesthtic solution into your 'area' so no general to recover from. It has a tightening effect on the skin too that helps the skin to shrink wrap the new slim shape.

There's a clinic in Nottingham that have a ton of before & afters on their website, I won't link it for fear of advertising but google is your friend Wink

Ooh will check that out. I'll be looking for moles, skin tone etc on any before and afters mind, I rarely trust them. Think they just buy knickers in two sizes and get two women to try them on - voila!

ClaudiaCutie · 14/03/2013 14:10

Ultrasonic DOES NOT work, and it's a complete waste of money, avoid, avoid!

On a more positive note, I have heard Coolscupting works very well indeed, but I have not personally tried it myself. It's non invasive.

bunjies · 14/03/2013 19:31

Why do you say that Claudia? Have you had it done? Am I right in thinking Vaser Lipo is more invasive in that they do make incisions and 'melt' the fat using lasers?

I say that because the dermotologist I used to see when I lived abroad got a machine at great expense. It had zero effect and they refunded their clients and sent the machine back after a year. They lost a lot of money.

Despite this, like a fool, some 5 yrs later I paid a place in Surrey to do this treatment on me, and guess what? It has NO EFFECT whatsoever. Grrr. Silly me. I complained to Trading Standards about unrealistic claims and they were completely useless. Buyer beware!

Most other forms of 'lipo' are invasive (Vaser, etc). I have no personal experience of the Vaser treatment. I did have conventional lipo in 2006 using very small narrow bore canulae and it was fantastic. Super quick recovery, no bruising or pain, and the flat stomach I always wanted. However that was done abroad with a brilliant doctor, I don't personally know of anyone in UK who can do to that standard. (High quality treatment must exist! I just don't know who ... and I don't need to find out as the lipo I've had done was just perfect).

If I personally wanted to get rid of any fatty bits now, I would get Coolsculpting done, but that's just beacuse I've seen the results on people and I have seen a good practitioner is offering it. It appears to offer a similar result to cannuale based lipo without the risks or recovery time. It is probably not cheap, but if the fatty bit is driving you crackers, then it's a case of weighing up cost/benefit.

Thanks Claudia, that's been really helpful. I suppose it was too much to hope for to have something non-invasive that actually works. I'm sorry you had to waste money before getting the results you wanted. Coolsculpting looks interesting & I'll be investigating this further as I really don't want anything involving a general anaesthetic.

I've had laser lipolysis. It worked well for me.

Chicinwellies · 17/03/2013 23:04

Following with interest and going to research cool sculpting. Mine would be for my tummy area, and I scar badly (can't remember the term for it) so beginning to look into alternative to conventional lipo.
