Style me pregnant...

Hello ladies...

I'm needing some help here...am 22 weeks pregnant and my old clothes are definitely NOT fitting any more. Have picked up a few maternity bits and pieces along the way, but can't help but feel frumpy.

What can I wear to make me feel better...was never fashionable, but like to wear 'nice' things, and would like to feel more 'put together'. Prefer skirts/dresses to trousers, and the roundness of my face doesn't lend itself to really high necklines. Don't mind my legs though, although not so sure about things too far above the knee!

5ft 6in, 34f Blush and weigh more than i'd like and so am a 14-16 Sad. Mousey brown, mid length hair (that also needs a bit of a makeover) and olivey skin (which could do with seeing some sunshine!).

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Hi there. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and love fashion. I've only bought two pairs of jeans - both on ebay - Jojomamanbebe jeggingx and Isabella Oliver and a couple of tops from Next and jojo. jojo have some denim skirts in a flattering a line style, to be honest I'm saving my money for a post mummy makeover so I may not be the best person to ask. I wouldn't mess with your hair until after baby is born; with DD1 and this pregnancy my hair l

ooked amazing but after DD1 was born it started to thin which made the layered trendy hair cut I'd had at 8 month pg look dreadful. Comfort is key- if you're not into fashion wait till after baby is born and give yourself a few treats.

Sorry my IPhone! Meant to say if you are making over yourself wait till after baby is born and if you want to treat yourself while pregnant spend money on comfy clothes and treats like massages/pedicures etc.

Could getting your hair done make you feel better? It always makes me feel better! If you get it done now then there's time for another cut/colour before the birth too.

Clothes-wise I lived in one pair of skinny jeans (Topshop's Baxter maternity jeans), wearing something like my normal clothes helped me feel a lot less frumpy. Some of the maternity clothes I bought were shocking and really made me feel 'pregnant', rather than just like me. Big mistake I'll not make if there's a next time.

If you like dresses, wrap-style jersey dresses could be your saviour. I had a few with quirky prints that I loved and wore up until the end. I can't see any online at the moment, but ebay could be your friend here.

OP i can relate to your post! At 22 weeks I was feeling very frumpy - more fat than bump like.
Now a month later I have rediscovered my isabella Oliver dresses from last pregnancy and feel so much more 'together' when I wear these.
Agree re wrap dresses - cant go wrong!

I have just bought this for a couple of events as well -
www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes/uk/100/maternity-dresses/DR068.html
Which feels amazing on. ( got a 20% code which made price a bit better)
If you prefer to spend less try Seraphine ( stocked in John Lewis)
I would say its well worth having one or two things in your wardrobe that feel both comfortable and stylish.
This skirt might be good depending on your shape -
shop.boobdesign.com/en/product/489/once-on-never-off-skirt#filter-3
I have the trousers but don't suit pencil skirts.

I went to Isabella Oliver and bought pretty much one of everything. It wasn't cutting edge, but I always looked well put together. It was the closest I've ever come to a capsule wardrobe!
