I have to finally admit I need a little help in the wobbly tummy department. Ive been looking at control pants Hmm and Im very confused as to which ones are any good. I dont want to spend a fortune, and I only need light control.

Can any of you wonderful ladies help me.

If it is just your tummy then M&S do v good suck em in vests. I now wear them under everything as the smooth(er) silhouette you get is addictive. They cost about £12 and come in white/black/nude.

I never thought of a vest, I will go and have a look, have you tried the pants as well?

One question, does the vest stay in place or ride up?

I have to wear the pants but much prefer the ones that have a leg attached to them, i.e. go down as far as mid-thigh. not because I have a problem with my legs but because I could never find normal pants which didn't cut uncomfortably into the flesh at the bottom seam.

RedundantExpat · 13/03/2013 12:06

Let me know if the vests don't ride up - that might mean I can finally wear normal pants again which would be a bonus.

Mrsap · 13/03/2013 12:08

They stay in place really well if u tuck them in. They feel way too tight to even get on at first and someone on here gave me the tip of stepping in/out of them rather than over the head and I've never looked back!

They help a bit with back fat too (god, I sound gorgeous,).

They are not too warm either so fine for all but the hottest of days and let's face it, we only get one of those a year.

Never tried the pants but then I have the world's flattest bum so not sure I need sucking in there just yet!

Mrsap · 13/03/2013 12:10

Ps. Another reason the vests are good is that you still get to wear all your nice pants and bras.......

Annianni · 13/03/2013 12:16

Sainsburys have big knickers for £8 that are shaped for apple or pear shaped. They are ok, I've worn them all day and no vpl.

I've got some trinny & Susanna ones, with legs like shorts and I lose the will to live with them on.

pinkbraces · 13/03/2013 12:19

ooooh I like the sound of the Sainsbury's pants - think I might try vest and pants (sound like a 3 yr old :) ) I will go and purchase at the weekend and then report back.

But has anyone found any that your don't spill out of at the waist? Even the really high waisted ones I've tried roll down and end up round my waist with nasty muffin top over! Bleugh!

Annianni · 13/03/2013 12:48

My sainsburys ones come up to my bra.
Hideously ugly to look at, but they haven't rolled down on me.

RedundantExpat · 13/03/2013 17:31

Mrsap - have you been on one of the bra threads re back fat? Seems like many women have had their ishoos resolved by changing bras.

I bought mine in a pharmacy and they were marketed as anti-cellulite pants together with some cream. I binned the cream and use the pants. They are like a VERY firm pantyhose and the most comfortable/efficient of all the many ones I tried.

Mrsap · 13/03/2013 18:26

Funny you should say that. I got onto the bra thread today and am going to read the link statistically kindly put on there. I am not huge 10 on top, but seem to have hideous back fat issues. Has been better since I started trying on lots of sizes of bra and ignoring the m&s fitters advice but feel that I not in quite the right bra yet.

Although I did the old scoop today and it made an astonishing difference!

Thx for the tip, I will get there eventually. Sorry for thread hijack!

However the vests are great for the old wobbly tummy. Shame I can't scoop the whole damn lot into a bra GrinGrin

Pseudonymity · 13/03/2013 18:31

I think a thong version of the pants is a good idea, the ones with a bum flatten your bum out which I don't think is very attractive. Yummie Tummie and Figleaves do thong ones. The vests ride up on me but I'm small around the waist so that might be why.

ISingSoprano · 13/03/2013 19:56

I've got some M&S tights which are great at holding the wobbly bits in place - think they are called 'bodyshaper'.

domesticslattern · 13/03/2013 20:16

If you're tall the M&S vest rides up constantly. Unless they have changed the design recently. Mine are a total waste of money or my muffin top is beyond help.

RedundantExpat · 14/03/2013 13:42

The thong pants, one of the many I tried, were extremely uncomfortable for me, but I suppose each body is different.

I also agree with the scooping the belly into the bra, now that would really make a difference to my life Grin
