Chanel - Perfection Lumiere: anyone tried it?

And if so what is it like? I currently use vitalumiere whcih I absolutely love, it's the only one I get a v v smooth coverage with. But there are only a small number of shades available and mine isn't a perfect match so I mix it with a bit of Estee Double wear.
I'd love to hear what people think perfection lumiere is like!

If you use vitalumiere and love it, I don't think you will like perfection lumiere. It's very matte and quite difficult to blend, and more suited to people with oily skin. Estee Lauder Double Wear is much nicer in my opinion.

Yes, I treated myself just before xmas. I'm Scottish so I'm pale with a tint of blue - Chanel seems to understand me and I'm shade 25 Beige! If you've got a lot of blemishes then it's not for you as it's not truly opaque - I'm 39 with some lines and a few scars but not much in the way of "problem areas" - but I know it wouldn't give what they call full coverage.

I'm very happy with it.

I thought it was pretty funny that you got two very opposing views about this and I took on Quinn's views and this morning I tried with a different primer (just Sephora's own) and used a stippling brush which gave a much better effect than fingers, sponge or sweeping brush. It's not "perfect" - I do wonder if perfection exists. :(

I think I justhave weird skin Sad. It is olive with quite sallow/yellow undertones and I just cannot get a perfect match. Even the doublewear sample which the Estee lady triumphantly announced was 'exactly your skin colour' is not!

So far I have tried Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Clinique, Lancome.....I give up!

Sounds like mixing foundations to find the perfect shade is the way to go for you.

I actually really like it- like DolomitesDonkey I'm very pale and its the first Chanel foundation that hasn't looked orange on me (despite various beauty editors etc raving about how good they were for 'paler skin tones'!)

It's the foundation I use as 'proper' foundation (use bb cream otherwise) but I wouldn't say it was heavy- definitely lighter than double wear, which is far too much for me. I have combination skin and it gives a nice matt-ish but glowy finish, and building up a couple of layers gives pretty good coverage of the acne scars around my jawline. However I have a flaky nose at the moment following a cold and its not great on the very dry bits I have to say
