Hi has anyone on here had a breast enlargement? I have been thinking of having one for years. If you had one, are you happy with the results? Who did you have it done by and how long did it take you to recover? Thanks x

I work in a plastic surgery ward so seen lots of women pre & post surgery.
I can try and answer any specific questions?

SorrelForbes · 12/03/2013 13:07

Toni27 have you visited any of the bra threads? Obviously, surgery might turn out to the option you decide on, but in the interim come and let the lovely bra ladies advise you on the correct bra size to ensure maximum boobage!

Hi Tony27. I am also planning on have a boob job. Once i have finished with having my children. (2 more we hope). Then once the bfing is over i'm going straight to the plastic surgeon! I can only feed from one side, so have one enormous/saggy boob like a sock with a satsuma in and one fried egg :(

My question is, do you know if you have to have them changed every 10 years?

Reecie3 · 12/03/2013 14:48

hello mums. i am a mother of 3 and i have recently had a breast enlargement. i would be happy to tell u all about it!! i am extremely pleased with my surgeon and my new boobs!!!(i have posted the name of surgeon on here earlier but my post has been removed because it came across as advertising.)

Dosey · 12/03/2013 15:00

Hi I have had one too and very happy with the results and no you don't need them renewing after 10 years.

Toni27 · 12/03/2013 21:51

Thanks for replying! I have never had boobs but when I was pregnant with both my kids they went massive (e cup) now back down to barely an a! They're not saggy, just tiny. I'm not having any more children, and with surgery I'm just scared of the recovery time really and not sure how often these ops go wrong I have tried to research these things but can't find out much. Reecie3 how long did it take for you to recover? Whoneedtosleep have you ever seen anyone seriously ill after surgery? Thanks guys x

the official recovery until you are back to doing every as normal was 6 weeks. i went back to work after 10days, could lift anything or bring my arms above shoulder level. it was tempting but i got accustomed to it very quickly. my youngest is 2years old i had to not lift her as well and that worked out ok. if you are one who gets sick after anesthetic i know that you can get meds to stop that while you are having the operation. so thats good!

whoneedstosleep · 13/03/2013 10:16

Everyone has a different recovery time but guidelines are 4-6 weeks.
I have not seen anyone become very ill but like everything else there are some complications that can happen...infection, haematoma etc.

I think the latest guidelines are to leave the implants in unless there are problems like capsule formation.

Once you have found a surgeon you are happy with they will discuss the types of implant and the techniques used.

Dosey · 13/03/2013 14:07

Try going on breastbuddies forum it's really useful. I took two weeks off work but I could have easily gone back after one week. I also get sick after anaesthetic but I had some meds which made me feel fine. My experience was very good but please do your research and find a consultant who,you feel really happy with.

Toni27 · 13/03/2013 19:05

Thanks very much:) for those who have had the op, did you go through your gp for advice or just go to the surgery groups advertised in magazines? X

my surgeon, i have known of for years through good friends, he is highly recommended and i trust him completely. he has been featured in magazines and does cosmetic conferences and that sort of stuff. i think he is well known in london.

Dosey · 13/03/2013 21:10

I did research through the different companies and had appointments with different consultants until I found one I liked

Toni27 · 13/03/2013 21:46

For those who have had it done, did you have over muscle or under muscle implants x
