Size 16 but running/shredding like mad. Wedding in one month I'm hour glass shaped but with mum tum. Not too formal but need to look smart as both daughters are in wedding party ( and little one likely to freak out and necessitate my "appearing" down the aisle). I'm blonde haired, fair skin and blue eyes....normally always dressed casually. Can't do high heels :)

Where would you start looking if you didn't want to spend loads ....

I bought the most beautiful bargain the other day - thick viscose crepe dress called a 'gypsy floral dress' from Brora for £69, I can't link on my phone but they do have it in a 16 left Smile

It's not stretchy so you will likely need a 16 but its cut so that it's immensely flattering - I bought an 18 - even though it is too tight on me for a few pounds (losing weight like you) it looks amazing on my hourglass shape and I can imagine it will look great in half a stones time.

And it was originally £159 quid.

It's lovely but I was thinking of something more "spring" so that I might get maximum use from it

Lord only know what weather will be .... Seems to me we have had 2 hot bits in the last two Aprils. I was thinking of something maybe with a bright cropped cardi over top ( for warmth and wobble coverage)

They're not to everyone's taste, but I've just bought a swing dress from Lady V London - only £40 and they have lots of different patterns. I'm hoping it'll see me through the wedding and christening season this year.

I just ordered a dress (actually 2 in 2 different sizes!) from www.getcutie.co.uk- they have lovely classic designs and beautiful prints. Their dresses are normally over £100 but they still have loads in the sale and the sizing is based on bra cup size and measurements. I gae them a ring and they were really helpful- it's a shop in Brighton if you live anywhere near. I am sure the shape of the dresses would be flattering in hiding a tummy.

I was going to suggest LadyV too, this, for example is very springy. Great with flats and a wee cropped cardigan. this? They have loads of prints and the cut is very flattering. The dresses have been photographed (badly) with a petticoat under.

here's one on someone I'd guess to be about a 16 and here without petticoat

I like this from Warehouse, both colours are pretty but not seen it in real life!

I would go for this dress from Reiss. It's beautifully cut and can withstand a few pounds either side of size so should have longevity. Not too pricy either.

Wore mine to a wedding last weekend and felt comfortable all day.
