Where can I buy wide fit shoes?

I am 21 weeks pregnant and my feet have expanded a bit!! I am having problems finding nice, flat shoes. I can't wear slip on shoes like ballerinas because I have different size feet and one is a bit skinnier than the other!!

I have a budget of around £40 and would prefer leather if possible. I am currently wearing pull on black bootcut trousers to cover my expanding bump!! They must be comfy!!

I am relying on the wisdom of Mumsnetters because I at the moment, sandals are the only things that are fitting me!! I'm going to look a bit silly in the snow tomorrow wearing a pair of Birkenstocks!!!

Shoe shop . Com are pretty good.. look for pavers and equity brand which are wide fitting (some more hideous than others).

Also consider Tom's (although not great in current weather !) .. available from office. They were great when my feet swelled when pregnant.

Clark's do wide fitting shoes and boots. Funny Dream is a nice casual shoe and it comes in black leather.

Also try ecco and hotters

MrsJohnDeere · 10/03/2013 18:12

Hotter, but most/all over £40 I think.

Next do wide fitting shoes, and have a comfy range similar to footgloves but slightly less grannyish called sole survivor.

"Normal" shoes are a D fitting. Wide fit shoes (Clarks, M&S, Next) are E. Clarks K range & Next Extra Wide are a EE. I got through two pregnancies in a pair of slip on loafers from the Clarks K range. If you get them in the sale/with a voucher, they should come within your budget. The joy of loafers is that they're (obviously) slip on which is much easier when you have a massive bump and can't be bothered (or just can't!) reach your feet to do up shoes and again when you've got a baby in your arms.
