So I've stopped using heated appliances for my hair...

And OMG!!! My hair resembles something akin to this (only my hair is darker & longer!)

www.aceshowbiz.com/events/James%20May/james-may-uk-premiere-jack-reacher-01.html

My hair is dry on the ends & coloured, seen better days, so I thought I'd stop with the hairdryer & straightening, even though I only straigtened it once or twice a week.

Leaving my hair to dry naturally leaves it curly on one side, wavy on another! Which it never use to be. It's wild! Doesn't look like its doing any good at all :( I'm desperately wanting to grow my hair longer, but I want it to look nicer too. I use to use Pantene shampoo, which was fine but switched to a deep cleansing one - tresemme (because I was getting a new colour done at the hairdressers and wanted as 'fresh' hair as possible & to rid as many silicones as I could) but that left my hair greasy. I then used dove, which is quite good, but ran out of that & now using aldi's own which isn't great.

So at the moment I'm keep my 'mop' tied up & hidden! It looks a fright! Please tell me I'm doing some good by ditching the 'dryer & straighter? I usually rub some serum through my hair when it's dry but even that doesn't tame it, looks even more dry/split by not using a hairdryer!

I'm kinda hoping by the time spring/summer is here (do we still have that season?) my hair will be in better condition for me to wear it down & have it a bit longer without having to have loads trimmed off !

I started going to an organic hairdresser and then stopped using straighteners, mostly to stop his nagging everytime I saw him. I hated it to start with because I couldn't iron out the straggliness but the condition did noticably improve within a couple of months. I also really recommend adding a couple of natural argan oil to your usual conditioner at least once a week.
