Best silicone-free hair products

I'm trying to avoid silicones as I know they are bad for hair - temporary shininess and glossiness, but block any moisture being able to penetrate hair and essentially coat it in plastic until it dies a slow, painful death or summat.

Anyway please recommend your fave products, for washing, conditioning and styling without silicones? Thanks I have tried a few with varying success but don't feel I've found my HG products.

Aussie Moist shampoo and conditioner - nice, but my hair doesn't feel very clean after a week of using, although occasional use makes it soft

Timotei Naturals shampoo and conditioner - this says for greasy hair, and seems very drying but I'm alternating it with the Aussie stuff.

And... coconut oil as a deep conditioner before washing, at least once a week. This is excellent an can be any old oil from the kitchen tbh.

Any others? Am especially interested in shiny-making styling products.

Lush R&B styling cream is great, i use that or just a bit coconut oil which I use to pick out strands for a messed up look.
I am also quite the fan of using a leave in hair styling conditioner that I buy in big pots from our local caribbean shop because it makes my hair soft without silicone.

If you look at the British Curlies forum, there is a list of products for hair with no SLS or silicone. Obviously it is for people following the Curly Girl routine for curly hair, but there is a great list there that might be useful for you whatever your hair type.

I also use coconut oil, and have some Naked silicone free serum which is okay. I have been silicone free for a year or two and it's been interesting. My hair is in much better condition though.

The Living Proof range is fab, pricey but worth it IMO.

Space NK sell it.

L'oreal ever pure range is great. It's sulphate free and not too expensive, often on offer. I find it leaves my hair shiny, soft and smooth. I've had compliments on how good my hair has been. It used to be very dry ( due to too much hair dye) but now so much better.

Yes to Carrots conditioner is lovely. Free from nasties, smells great and leaves my hair really smooth and shiny. They sell it at Holland & Baratt.

One to avoid in my opinion is the Naked shampoo range. Left my hair feeling awful.

I like the loreal everpure range, about £4 on Amazon, it has mended my knackered old hair.

I have also just gone silicone and SLS free.

I got caught out by the Naked products as not all their conditioners are silicone free yet. So if you buy Naked check the bottle and make sure it is one of the ones that says Silicone free.
