Thanks!

Haven't tried it myself but have seen it on sale in health food shops, even Waitrose. They have a UK website //www.weleda.co.uk but you have to pay for postage if the order is under £40.

I've got the Weleda citrus one. It doesn't work for long unfortunately, you will realise you smell an hour or two later. Although if you carry it with you and spray it on when you're whiffy it takes the smell away instantly for awhile. Tried Green People too, it's ok but not good enough for warm weather.

The Soapwalla stuff is great, it lasts ages and really works all day. Someone recently said plain old bicarbonate soda dusted on works all day, so I've been meaning to try that.

Of course the smell is not from our sweat but from the bacteria that grow and then die in it! It has always puzzled me why they do not research what changes at puberty that makes adult sweat smell but not that of children - surely there might be a practical answer there?
It also puzzled me why all these anti-perspirants tried to block the pores - like King Canute - rather than kell or inhibit the bacteria responsible for the odour. A few years ago I discovered what appears to be the only one on sale that contains anti-bac and my family all use this. even my most sensitive skinned daughter has no problems with reactions. For some reason it is only available in the smaller 150ml size aerosol. It is Right Guard by Schwartzkopf antibacterial range with names like X-treme and Active-X.
Yes it does contain chemicals - but I have used them all my life and my parents before me with no adverse consequences and the antibacterial effects are soooo good. Oh and men shaving their armpits of course to remove acres of surface for the bacteria to multiply on! My husband and son have had to admit that it really does make a difference as the logic is so clear-cut!
It is soo nice being able to roll over into a cuddle without expecting the wet smelly armpit hair. It is about time women insisted on this - just as men ought to be insisting on longer beds surely?
