Okay with a DC2 on the way - how do I --keep-- make myself fabulous (or am I being superficial)

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with DC2 and this time round I don't want to let myself go. I exercised after DD1 (gym membership of 15 years went on hold for six months got an exercise bike and used it with iPod for company when DD! was napping). I did regular facials at home and eBay-ed clothes using funds to buy new wardrobe. However four years later I'm not going to be able to take a long maternity leave (3 months max). So ladies - what wardrobe basics should I invest in and how do I create the time to keep myself looking grooomed. Or am I just asking too much?!

Elizabeth glad someone answered my thread - was wondering if I sounded vain. I'm going to try and make sure re. water - didn't drink near enough with DD1. Vitamins too. I'm going to have to put a post up about sling suggestions. Had a Close baby carrier last time round and couldn't work out how to use the damn thing, it ended up on eBay.

I think scalfs and accessories will be your friend. You can wear a plain old black outfit from head to toe and really style it up with a scalf / belt / necklace. They are cheap to get hold of and you can wear them all pre and post birth.

I totally agree about drinking lots of water too and there are plenty of good fitness DVD's around that you can use to make the most of your time at home.

CareerGirl 01, didn't you post not long ago saying that you were in hospital having the baby and only had a few days to go, and wanting advice on pampering smellies for while in hospital? Or am I mixing you up with someone else?

Really, the during and post-birth isn't a time for being super-glam. It's all about the baby and you will look and feel like death warmed up for a short while. And that's okay! It is allowed.
Nowt wrong with having a few nice garments you really like and feel good in, but don't put pressure on yourself to look 'glam' in the early days. There is little point and you'll just make yourself miserable when you could be lolling about in bed with the baby in your PJs eating cake for 3 months.

Onemore yes that was me. I think I am going to take it easy the first few weeks; just looking for advice now because I got baby blues quite badly after DD1 and wanted to pamper/prepare myself beforehand. This pregnancy has been a bit rough and I need a boost to make me feel human. Hoping I don't feel as bad after DC2.

Harems are stylish and comfy, if they're your thing, plus some slouchy t-shirts and a scarf in a flattering colour. Havaianas or similar for putting on handsfree!

Wrap dresses that you can feed in.

I wouldn't get necklaces as they only get grabbed!
