Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but no cream is gonna work now. You're doomed! Once the architecture of your skin has gone, ain't nothing gonna bring it back. The bloom of youth is behind you. Have I gone too far?!

tanfastic · 01/03/2013 20:44

I'm 40 next month too. My akin is pretty good and I'm convinced it's more to do with not smoking and sunbathing too much rather than any fancy cream, oh and probably genetics as my 67 year old mum has great skin too.

Or maybe I'm just deluding myself and I'm actually quite prune-like Sad

Akin? Skin obviously Grin

I am forty soon. Since Christmas I have been using tesco brand vitamins for hair skin and nails. I have seen a massive improvement in my skin. I compared them to the perfictil range and they contain the exact same ingredients but cost half the price.

Charliefox · 01/03/2013 21:42

Share link pls Dosey - let's 'av a butchers.

Dosey · 01/03/2013 21:58

Sorry Charlie I can't link but I stood in tescos and compared the two boxes with each other and they were exactly the same. In fact I did it after reading a link on s&b
www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=260801196
www.vitabiotics.com/Perfectil/original_main.aspx

Charliefox · 01/03/2013 22:53

Charliefox · 01/03/2013 22:54

Oh yeah, no guessing required, product number is same as you posted!

I was bought up by a woman who thought moisturiser was frivolous but have managed to save myself in later years .. I too am 40 this year, and the things that do make a difference are:

  • drinking lots of water (I also drink a lot of coffee and wine so am probably "neutral" in terms of difference in real life)
  • citrus fruit - don't ask me why, but it makes my skin radiate! eat lots of oranges, grapefruit - I also think lemon slices in G&T count myself but don't have any evidence for this, sadly *I tried post expensive cream, cheap as chips and now sit in the middle with good brands and have found that you really can't beat a bit of Olay in the end. *fresh air

I had a professional make up lesson and the woman aged my skin at early 30's - which is nice to hear (and she wasn't giving it flannel as she was super honest about everything to the point of being brutal!!).

Thank you for your words of wisdom and advice as always on this site it makes me laugh so that must be good for me. Think i will have a go with the tesco vitamins . Cant hurt and it might keep DH from running screaming to the hills . Mind you doubt he could run anywhere any more having had his 40th some years ago. thanks again ladies.
