Urban Decay Primer Potion - what am I doing wrong?

So I bought this after hearing more or less universal rave reviews. But it creases and seems to make no difference to my eyeshadow!

I used a tiny amount, grain of rice for both lids, blended, left to dry. What am I doing wrong? Do I just have freakishly oily hooded eyelids?!

Betty, I found the UD PP stuff to be utterly useless on me. Also found MUA lid primer (also gets rave reviews) to be useless, so it's my skin that is the problem I think, not the products.

In the end I found that using Bioderma Pore Refiner Sebium, grain of rice size painted onto lids with a tiny brush, left to dry and thus used as a primer is a huge help.

Once it's dried, I then brush a layer of powder foundation over the Bioderma Pore Refiner Sebium with a bigger eyeshadow brush. this gives complete success. Apply eyeshadow, liner etc over this and nothing moves. Apply 8am, remove at 11pm, still looks perfect. Adds two mins to morning routine.

I have tried with just Bioderma PRS and just with powder foundation, and neither are as good when used separately. together, super effective.

I just bought the Urban Decay primer too, but its worked on me. I have really oily eyelids so eyeshadow never usually lasts, but used it for the first time today & my eyeshadow looks the same as when I applied it 8 hours ago.

I probably used slightly more than a grain of rice size, maybe that's it? Did you get any foundation on your eyelids, before applying it?

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I think I may have got some foundation on my lids - is it better to put the primer on bare skin? Will try that.

Claudia, that stuff sounds amazing, will look it up. Trying to stop myself buying too much at the moment, but maybe next month if I can't get on with UD...

Oh, one more thing, I find the cleanser I use prior to putting on makeup makes a bit of a difference. Even though BeautyMouth guru lady rails against foaming cleansers, I find a tiny bit of Simple brand on a sponge, applied with great care to eyelids on a sponge, and carefully rinsed off gives a non-oily starting point for eyemakeup. for rest of face I use a glycolic cleanser and I don't want it near my eyes.

I tried a Micellar water cleanser to prep the eye area yesterday and my eyemakeup wasn't as good as usual, so doing the right prep certainly seems to have a big effect.
