Have you machine washed Celt boots?

Just wondering if I should risk it, and how you did it?

I dropped a greasy, fatty bit of chicken skin onto the top of one of my lovely Celt house boots Confused

I quickly covered it in talc and left it for 24 hours. This helped somewhat, but there is still a mark on the boot - what do I dooooo?

Because I already have some, I'd probably try some Nikwax shoe cleaning foam on it. But that may not actually be the best thing to do.

Having you seen the washing guidelines on their website? www.celticandco.co.uk/shopping-with-us/sizes-fitting-care/

Not one Celtic ones but washed my ugg boots a couple of months ago after a bottle of dishwasher cleaner fell on them in home bargains Angry

Tbh I was dreading it - I put them in a pillowcase and washed on wool wash, stuffed toes with newspaper and put next to radiator to dry. Worked fine - although the suede shrunk a little a first as they where tight (like brand new) but stretched back now.

Fully intend washing them again at end of season ready for next year

I've washed my Celtic Sheepskin boots twice - similar issue, dropped something greasy on them. The mark came out but I wouldn't say they are as good as new. The suede has shrunk a little and they don't look 'quite' the same. They are still really comfy and warm though so I still wear them but I did buy another pair which I keep for 'good' and I wear the washed ones for going to the park/walks etc.

Great, thanks for the advice!

Woozle - should have checked the website myself really shouldn't I?!

Thanks for the mention of the uggs too - I have black ones and tan ones that both look a bit grubby - will do those as advised here!

Thanks again!
