Bravissimo experiences

Ten months after my dd was born I'm still trying to find the right size and comfortable bra. I have wasted too much money on ones that just aren't right so I've booked a fitting at Bravissimo tomorrow as I just want one comfy well fitting bra!
I'm having to travel further than normal to get to my nearest store so I'm hoping they will be able to sort me out. Those who have been, did they find the right bra for you and do they cater for a range of budgets? Thanks

I've always had really good experiences and left with great bras, which are comfortable and give a good shape. On a few occasions they haven't had the sizes in the particular bras that I've wanted to have ordered them. There isn't always much in terms of sexy undies, they tend to be quite full of cup but fit well. I usually expect to pay around £30-£35 in there for a bra, the matching undies are usually around the £10-£15 though!

Enjoy! I can't wait to be out of nursing bras Smile

They measured me for a nursing bra and I was amazed that a non wire, non padded bra could give such a great shape.

A hit for me.

i love bravissimo Grin try on everything they suggest, spend time jiggling your boobs into position, jump around, try a tshirt over the bra. Do not leave with anything you are not 100% happy with (even though you are making a special trip)!

glenthebattleostrich · 25/02/2013 18:19

Brilliant, I was measured there just before Christmas and I looked like I'd dropped a dress size because the boobies were no longer hanging around my waist!!! The assistant listened to the styles I prefered and I tried on loads of bras which she made sure fit properly before I decided which to buy. They are worth every penny :)

I went last week

I shall never buy a bra anywhere else. I've lost one of my extra rolls of fat and look a stone lighter. People have actually noticed. My posture is better, I feel better

And the bras were no more expensive than m&s

cosysocks · 25/02/2013 18:25

I have only ever had good experiences with them. Always make sure you get a fitting, because if you get home and after a days wear (which I think you need to tell if a bra fits properly tbh) they will replace them for you.

Lottapianos · 25/02/2013 18:31

I love them. Friendly fitters who know their stuff, great selection of bras, cost a bit more than m&s or similar but worth every penny.

DewDr0p · 25/02/2013 22:50

I never shop anywhere else for bras now. Definitely get a fitting - I think I know what I'm doing re bra fit but their fitters are so picky and won't let you walk out with something that doesn't fit - sometimes I try one on and think oh that's not bad and the fitter tuts at the bad fit and tries another size/style. Also they know their stock really well so will pick out the best shapes for your boobs. Fitters are also very discreet and will usually ask if you want them to step outside while you change (I'm not bothered but appreciate the thought!)

M&S prob cheaper but the fit and support just aren't there in M&S bras ime.

Thanks very much everyone, i'm really looking forward to my appointment and hopefully not wasting any more money. I have so many duff bras cluttering up my drawer. I will be happy to just get one decent one!

Good experience here too. Jemster have you look at any of the bra threads on here? There's so much information on them - here.

Jemster · 26/02/2013 09:59

Thanks AgathaF for the bra thread. Is there a previous thread I should look at to that one to start from the beginning?

OP posts:
AgathaF · 26/02/2013 10:10

There have been a few - the before is this. All of the threads have information about how to measure yourself to get a guide to your correct size, and how to identify a well fitting bra. Also lots of recommendation of particular bras to try for different shaped breasts.

I found it useful to have that knowledge when I went to Bravissimo for fitting, although they were great anyway.

You mention prices in your OP. Once you have found your correct size and have identified which brands/styles suit you best, Amazon and Ebay are your friends Grin.

dottyaboutstripes · 26/02/2013 10:18

I was going to say the same - have a fitting and maybe buy one bra then search online for a better price! Service at Bravissimo is excellent but prices aren't!
